Hmm...not sure about that.

2010 has been awesome for downloads, I made a topic about it. I don't think there are many devs/publishers not in the know so to speak. Its just that there are a whole load more games coming.

Looking forward to finally getting Fez. Pixeljunk Shooter 2 is coming. From Dust. Journey (new game from the Flow/Flower people). Radiant Silvergun. Retro City Rampage. Stacking. Fire Pro Wrestling. BattleBlock Theater. Various Kinect XBLA games. Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. Outland. Spelunky.

Sure there will be loads more too, if you don't recognise some of those, go check them out, some awesome looking stuff there.

1. Diablo III becomes a clear game of the year, on PC at least.
2. Minecraft fades into the background and the next big indie game takes it's place for the year.
3. Several MMO's continue to launch into a brick wall trying to compete against WoW.
4. More gaming studios sadly close, due to the economic problems in the world.
5. (A bit hopeful) But we begin to see the launches of new titles that aren't sequels.

- Sony to outsell XBOX360 worldwide for the third successive year with a price drop
- a Sony exclusive to be 2011's game of the year
- Microsoft to continually grow the market for Kinect to become the worlds best selling peripheral
- Move to sell consistently well but nothing like Kinect
- Agent actually get revealed...finally
- we get a sniff of next-gen from unofficial sources
- Steamworks on PS3 actually works from the word go
- PSP2 released to an overall warm media reception but fails to give the brand impetus

I'm surprised nothing has been said so far about Apple. Could a cheaper Ipad and maybe a more powerful ipod touch make real inroads into mainstream gaming rather than just being for cheap and cheerful games?

A decent IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey sequel for 360 please.

1. Xbox 720 is announced. No real details.
2. Teaser trailer for Halo 4, being developed as a launch title for the new console.
3. Nintendo unviels successor to Wii.
4. Fallout 4 is to be set in New York.
5. 3DS becomes the most successful hardware launch of all time.

Last year I would have added something about Half-Life but it was becoming something of a tradition so I'm not bothering this year. See Valve? You have lost my faith. I hope you're happy.

What happened to last years predictions? Do we still have them floating around?

Uncharted 3 and Skyrim to both be released towards the end of the year and be neck and neck for GOTY.

GTA V to be revealed for release in 2012

The Last Guardian, Uncharted 3 and Skyrim to get EDGE 10

Nintendo to unveil their next console.

Silent Hill 8 to be a successful entry to the series, being the highest reviewed entry of all the Western developed titles.

A Climax new developed Silent Hill title to be revealed for 2012.

PSP2 fails to deliver any standout games, but is an excellent piece of tech.

Hitman 5 to be delayed until 2012.

Next proper Metal Gear Solid announced.

Heavy Rain sequel (Or David Cages next game) revealed.

Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Hitman Collections on PS3 revealed.

Journey (Flower) is not as good as Flower.

Yes...because it's all about NPD

If the gap in December is as big as it was in November then it will shift the balance worldwide, so until we see December we NPD we simply don't know who outsold who worldwide.
