That's basically what I'm getting at. Should the game deliver in its script and the quality of the acting and new motion capture techniques are realised, it might be a real watershed moment for mature storytelling in video games.

On the other hand the hell of a development period doesn't point to a game without some problems and if it does flop (though I can't imagine Rockstar won't be promoting it heavily) then it'll kill Team Bondi. Then developers won't think about attempting anything risky in an era where the wrong release date or one bad game can already shut studios' doors.

Genuinely interested in why you think this is. Sure we haven't seen much but essentially looks like Red Dead/GTA with a Noir setting. Tha's a big statement your making here

PSP2 Announced and Released in the Autumn 2011 with Uncharted as a launch title.

Mass Effect 3 to be almost the same game as 2 but new levels.

Halo Remake announced for 2012. Halo Wars 2 released 2011.

Modern Warfare 3 not released. A new 3rd Person COD is released 11/11/2011.

Half-Life 3 teaser plays after Portal 2 is completed.

More buzz for PSP2 than 3DS.

New GTA announced set in San Andreas.

Elder Scrolls V to be delayed until early 2012.

MGS5 to be announced with Kojima at the helm.

3DS to not launch until June in the West and priced at £199.99.

PSP2 to be announced at GDC before the worldwide launch of 3DS. Steals some thunder with the promise of app style games as well as big PS3 style blockbusters. Using the PSN network and even being able to Skype during gameplay.

MGS5 and Uncharted are announced at E3 for PSP2.

Kojima's adventure game to be for 3DS and iDevices.

David Cage's next game to again be under the Sony banner and a Sci Fi adventure game.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown announced for PSN/XBLA.

Mass Effect 3 to slip into 2012.

Aliens: Colonial Marines trailer shown in Feb and wins game of the year.

Skyrim will be the best game of FOREVER.
There will STILL be no updates for TF2 on the Xbox.
There will, once again, be absolutely ZERO mention of a new Half Life title (be it HL2E3 or a proper HL3)
Portal 2 will also be rather good.
