I can't believe this is how i'm spending my New Years Eve, but what the hell  :fp: What are people's gaming predictions for the up coming year? Be it announcements, sales predictions to which games will surprise or disappoint.

- Mass Effect 2 to get one final piece of DLC around Q2 2011 period

- At least one big name game to get delayed until 2012 to "avoid" Modern Warfare 3

- Remedy to unveil Alan Wake to with use of Kinect

- Rare announce a shedload of Kinect games - including Perfect Dark 2

- Mass Effect 3 carries on where ME2 left off and divides opinion amongst gamers as some praise the action orientated finish to the trilogy, where as other further bemoan the lack of RPG features

- Lionhead to announce a non-Fable game that utilizes Kinect

- Halo remake is released in September. Halo 4 also gets teased

- Microsoft announce more publishing deals for big name developers (similar to the Crytek Codename Kingdoms thingy)

- Microsoft's "second wave" of Kinect games impresses critics and gamers after it's E3 showing.

- Hitman 5 gets announced and possibly released Fall 2011

- And Bioware include an ending in Mass Effect 3 where the Reapers "win". Renegade ending choice has Shepard sacrifice every major race in order to save himself and humanity.

Sony to shove 3D (threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!) down our throats @ E3.

Sony to announce that one of their biggest franchises is heading to psp2, the game will bomb.

A few big game getting released first quarter 2011 wil bomb

Microsoft to continue to outsell the wii & ps3 in the NPD, sony start to outsell the wii (not sure if thats acuatlly happened?)

PsP2 (lol) to die a slow miserable death over here in the UK & the U.S of A, but will sell well in Japan.

The panasonic Jungle will be like the fat kid @ school, nobody wants to play with him.

Demo of aliens: colonial marines to come out, the game probably released in 2012.

1. Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception will be as awesome as everyone suspects it to be and garners multiple GOTY awards.
2. Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 to be delayed until 2012
3. A mass of complaints due to the 3DS causing eyepain/headaches as people play on it for hours on end.
4. Zelda will be the same old 3D Zelda like game, that they've always been and receive good but not great reviews.
5. Definite news and screenshots released of Half Life 3: Episode 3
6. Black Mesa will still not be released
7. Duke Nukem Forever falls into the Wolfenstein/Singularity camp of being a bloody enjoyable FPS, with not one original bone it it's body.
8. The successor to the Wii will be unveiled at the Tokyo Game show.
9. The new game unveiled from Respawn will be underwhelming. The court case with E.A. West/Zampella and Activision will bore gamers before it ends.
10. New C.O.D. game will "flop" compared to past entries in the series.
11. Diablo III to be the biggest PC game of the year.

Some safe bets there, some outlandish ones to though.

Of course, DNF has the notable advantage of never intending to be anything other than a parody of FPS and action movie cliches, so it isn't supposed to be original.

1 I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the PSP2 will be a moderate success.
2 3DS is a smash hit only slightly less popular than the DS
3 Dungeons on PC to get an edge 10.
4 Move and Kinect to have a great start but a slow finish to the year leading to speculation about a 2012 release for Next Gen
5 Nintendo bring back the Gameboy name with a new 3Dless handheld.
6 Miyamoto to join Lionhead Studios and start a new super team.

1. Someone finally makes an FPS for kinect with head-tracking that allows you to lean around corners.

Doesn't that just result in you getting shot in the head?

I'm sure some old PC games used to have a lean function. It's like going into cover, just without the cover being sticky.

I was reading Stuff magazine yesterday (from September), and they mentioned the largest OLED screen you could get. It was 16 inches and cost £1800 or something. I saw it and thought "Peter Crisp would love that." :fp:

I'd still buy it just to show people the awesomeness of OLED  .
They were supposed to make screens cheaper to produce and use less power  .
Whoops.

I did like the look of it and I thought the guys on the gadget show were wrong to choose a stupid crappy 3D projector over it but unfortunately I'm so used to larger screens now I don't think it would matter how awesome it was £1800 is way over my budget and just too small.

All you need to know is it's an organic telly so better for the environment. Obviously being a hippy organic set it's going to be a bit more expensive but it does give you the ability to gloat about your green credentials.
