I'm not moaning, but I think I own about 2 European DS games. Everything else is from America/Japan. :P

Imagine if Nintendo had blocked you playing Ouendan.

Why on earth would I sit around for months waiting for a game to come out here, when I could just import it? It's really dumb, it's a stupid business model. Nintendo should just market and release worldwide simultaniously and have everything region free.

i know, i know. It's dumb. You import, you usually get the same game quicker and cheaper.

Weigh what up?

The significance of region protection on a handheld games console.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

It doesn't make sense on consoles, let alone handhelds! It's basically saying if you go on holiday, have fun not picking up any good games that you can't get in your home territory.

I think the reason for me that matters is, I could always find an unknown gem in Japan or America that had little or no chance of ever coming to the UK with all my previous handhelds. Another is where ever I travelled I'd take one with me and know I could buy a game to play on the flight home. This just isn't an option with 3DS. It's a massive step back for Nintendo.

Nope! Never pirated anything game wise.

No more Atlus RPGs for Nintendo handhelds in Europe :( Hope Rising Star, SouthPeak and Ghostlight are taking note and get to work on securing some obscure games.

If this had been true for the DS, we'd have had no Ouendan craze.

Let that chilling thought sink in.

I religiously pirated every DS game I ever bought, because it was less effort to have them all on my flash card instead of having to carry around a ton of easily lost carts.

So there's no point importing a console unless you intend on importing every game! :fp:

My money's going to Sony now. 8-)

I'd wait on that too. You think Sony will go region free again?

Yes, they did with the PS3 so its a no brainer. If they region lock it I will just get a PSP for every region thus giving Sony more monies! 8-)

Never bothered with Ouendan, I only played Elite Beat Agents instead.
