EBA just wasn't as good and how long after did that arrive?

My money's going to Sony now. 8-)

Okay, jokes aside it's not a major problem, well it is only for filthy pirates and uber geeks who like playing fancy named titles with tons of language barriers. :shifty:

Is Ouendan the drum game that seemed to be the same as that one Arcade machine?

Exactly. And how long did that take to make an appearance? If people hadn't loved Ouendan so much, it probably wouldn't have come out here at all.

This has nothing to do with piracy :/

Importing games on a system you take on holidays etc is part and parcel of the experience. The DSi was locked for games with DSi features, thankfully they were few and far between. You could still play any DS game from any region. This new stance is utter nonsense. Offering the consumer the option of where to buy games was great, taking it away is a Sony style strawberry float up.

Grey Imports != piracy. And I rarely import a game that has huge language barriers.

Bear in mind that it doesn't just lock out importing Japanese games, but also American games, which have no language issues.

Dunno, I didn't get it at launch. I got it from someone on here about a year ago.

I think Nintendo want us to play this at home. First they give us a 1 hour battery life, then they tell us we can't take it abroad and buy games.

I think it was two years. Like TTK said, it wouldn't have come at all if Ouendan wasn't so damn popular.

Luckily I tend to only go on holiday to France, so hopefully it'll be region locked to Europe, rather than the UK.

Still, it'll be CFW-ed before too long, won't it? I'd hope it wouldn't be that tricky to fool the console into thinking it's everywhere... :shifty:

Except to encourage it by locking away games.

Granted I very rarely import games, I'm often quite patient when it comes to waiting for games to come out/get cheaper etc but I do absolutely love the Super Robot Wars series and the thought of playing that with this whole 3D madness added was a major contributer to buying a 3DS. There's absolutely zero chance of it being released in English but I can't import a 3DS as then I wouldn't be able to play any thing that requires reading so I'm stuck either way, miss out on one of my favourite franchises or miss out on everything else.

It's got all this auto updating stuff though hasn't it so Nintendo would probably just find a way to fix that asap.

Oh yeah, the opposite effect they were after :(

Seriously how anyone can be ok with this is beyond me. My love of portable gaming grew from how much freedom you were offered. Not only were you not tied to a TV but you could buy games from anywhere in the world. It was so liberating next to home consoles. This is honestly one of the worst decisions Nintendo has made since 1993.

Hopefully the CFW would also disable auto-update.

You could always sellotape it to your cat or something.
