Failed Mission 1 on my first attempt  my own fault as I tried to overrun the enemy and got wiped by Olaf’s medium tank. Beat it on the second attempt.

Don't worry, I did this too and was terrified of medium tanks for awhile afterwards as a result

I too was feared of Olaf's medium tank and in the end I left it alone until the last. I wiped it out and I got Rank A.

I wasn't sure if it was any good as it took me about 12 days.

I read a few places that people are not getting the gold points? But I had no issues

Well thank strawberry float for that.

Why are some of my bazooka units just shooting rifles?

Guns against soldiers, bazooka against vehicles.

Think I'm also in this club, been waiting for the game for so long that I'm already halfway through the Green Earth Missions of Campaign 1 after only owning it a day.

Have also found Green Earth and Yellow Comet a lot easier foes than Blue Moon honestly. Grit in fog of war is always a nightmare

Is it me or are the powers of the COs you come up against so much better than your own options?

Kriken wrote:Assuming the scoring formula hasn't changed in this remake (it feels the same from the bit I've played of it), then it's as follows:

Technique: Try not to lose a big proportion of your units for a perfect score - the proportion I think varies from map to map. You can mitigate the loss by building more units - so keep building units even if you don't need them (as long as it doesn't hurt your strategy).

Power: Based on the proportion of the enemy's units you destroy in a single turn. Destroy 10% of the enemy's total unit count in a single turn to get a perfect score.

Speed: You can guess this one - it's based on how many days you beat the map in. The required amount of turns for a perfect score varies from map to map.

Is that how they do power? Seems a bit bullshit.

I think it's quite well balanced tbh. Sami's is a bit gooseberry fool unless in specific circumstances. Eagle's is strong.

Sami is also better in 2 and beyond, iirc they made it so when she uses her power she can double cap meaning you can take buildings in one move. In 1 they didn't have this so she's somewhat weak.

I'm up to the final mission I believe on AW1 now, maybe there's a bit more after I don't know as I started with 2 when I was younger. I spent 33 turns trying to beat the last mission and got a C >_<

I think they all balance out it one way or another, trick is to not fall into a trap where the opponents can really utilise their power.

Only managed to get time to play a few missions last night. It’s good, it’s damn good

When it comes to the War Room and other modes outside of Campaign, does it just contain everything from AW1 and 2 or do you select which games features you wish to use?

Digital Foundry's video analysis is out and the game is recommended; there are some misgivings about performance and appearance but, overall, they feel that the sheer fun of playing outweighs these aspects. Great stuff!

Been playing my brother's copy. Takes a few hours to skip over all the training bollocks but it's as fun as it always was. It shows its age somewhat in how simple it is and the graphics don't do much to add a new charm to it. However it's still great fun to just blast through missions. Seems dumb that you can't play randos online. Shame you can't just skip to AW2 as well as I'm sure that would feel a bit fresher and having to blast through the original first might end up meaning people get tired before getting to it.

£50 is far too high a price for this imo, it should be £30 or £40. It's a rather low effort remake and the originals were GBA games after all and are pretty ancient at this point.
