That is true, but I'm not sure how you voting for the loser prevents that, or what it achieves at all. It just seems like, if people were to try and read anything from the votes, you'll just be sitting in there muddling it up.

Surely if there are vampires staying quiet, then voting while inactive would look far more suspicious? If one of the nominees is a vampire and one isn't, the vampires can just wait until they're both nominated, then send their private lynch nominations to PsychicSykes without anyone else knowing, thus ensuring that the vampire survives the night, and they don't incriminate themselves.

Maybe but if the vamps are happy, then my view is we shouldn't go through with it.

I can just speak from my personal experience where if there was even a chance of a wolf going up for the lynch we did all we could to prevent that. With so few people actually voting for the mayor, most people are arguably voting for the lynch while inactive.

What would happen if the votes for the mayor were tied? Would they go up as a joint mayorship and both pick one of their lynchees to go up for the lynch?

Why do people sign up for a forum game though if they know they're not going to have the time to play?

Makes no sense.

I realise some people are keeping away tactically and I'm not aiming this at them. But there's 45 villagers who have no reason to stay inactive, so some are just simply not posting. It ruins it for everyone else.

There really should be a rule where you have to make at least two posts a day, even as a wolf/vampire as remember what happened in both my game and the last AYAW? There was one wolf/mafia who didn't make a post in the entire game meaning trying to work out it was him was impossible.

I believe some people stay away from the kerfuffle at the start and keep their eyes on the thread to look for any leads. That's a guess tbh.

To be fair, I think most people sign up out of sheer excitement, without thinking it through. I work 9 to 5 weekdays so I'm speaking for myself here

Didn't people try to lynch him, as he didn't die from an inactive cull?

What does the bog standard villager who doesn't post have to gain from staying away though? Nothing whatsoever.

It's just annoying is all. :x

StayDead; What's your reasoning for putting up Red Devil and Dan?

I know why Dan has chosen his candidates so want to be able to vote with an informed opinion.

Yo.

Sorry, was at a friends house painting yesterday, then drove to Somerset so really wasn't able to post.

Also, Tapatalk appears to be balked at the moment, as I wasn't even able to view the thread yesterday from my phone.

I've always been of the opinion that it's best to target and cull the inactives, as the villagers need to force the Vampires to post in an attempt to expose them.

Having said that, I've played about 5 of these games now, and not won one of them, so what the hell do I know.

I think that staying quiet for the first few days is a valid strategy - I happen to know from past games that it's something Dalax does - it's a considered and deliberate tactic rather than laziness.

However, staying quiet for the first few days is a whole different kettle of fish to staying quiet for the entire game, and I find it quite odd that anyone would sign up to a game with the intention of never posting. I'm going to have exams soon but I'm sure I'll find the time to stay up to date and make the occasional post or vote* rather than being completely inactive. Should be the same for everyone!

* Saying that, I'm not overly convinced by anyone this time round so I'm abstaining from the mayoral vote for today.

Doesn't seem like a very smart tactic so far this time.

5/6 kills so far have been that of inactives.

My reasoning behind Dan is he's trying to make a mountain our of a molehill. All we know now, until PCCD can explain if he really was confused (which he said in the PM to me) is that PCCD made a simple mistake and lynching him without giving him chance to defend himself would be a bad idea. Dan is seemingly trying to keep us on one subject and doesn't seem to have any other true leads other than a really bad one pointing at Luke for making a comment various others made.

Red Devil is just because he seemed really quick to support Dan, but after discussion I don't mind changing that to whoever people want really. Red Devil is just so I have a second person to run with.

A fair enough observation. I don't employ the tactic myself so I can't really answer.

Just caught up, my internet has been awful so far this weekend :fp:

Firstly Pete :fp: had to be done, at least that issue is put to bed

The vigi   keeping up the high standards set by previous vigis

As for today, i honestly don't know. The twitter thing has distracted us, so thankfully sykes has put that to bed. As for lynchees, seems we haven't got a lot. I'm all for inactives, especially ones the vamps don't kill. Either way we're getting rid of players that are of no use to us or maybe strike a potential hidden vamp. As for mayor today, i duno lol. I'll abstain.
