There will probably be

2 "vigilantes" - villagers who have a gun with maybe 1 bullet with which they can kill anyone of thier own choosing
1 or 2 "witch doctors/ Herbalists" - a villager who can protect someone of thier chooseing against vampire attacks every night

Theres almost certainly another role like a vote counter or rigger or something, and i would also suspect another role too.

Did anyone manage to monitor the "who's pming" page at the crucial time?
And if your status is set to "unseen" would you show up on that screen? Is is therefore wise that the seers etc also set thier status to unseen or whatever it is called?

EDIT: It looks to me that the hidden users are not on the status screen.

Can i ask a question to previous wolves/mafia/bluehats - did you set your status to unseen?

It'll say "view private messages" which is usually a good indication.

I know Parksey advised the seers to start a network with seered villagers but I'd advise not doing that and starting a network with the other seer and then moving on to the other special roles (vigilante et al) instead. It's much much safer than with villagers and we've less chance of losing other special roles down the line because of leaks in the network.

Things that I learnt the time I was a werewolf.

I didn't send or receive one PM during my time. Everything is email or MSN. Facebook or Twitter is probably being used.

Everyone tries to be the "same" normal self so anyone trying to be different is rarely anything but a bored Plain Jane trying to spice their time up.

Did you change your status to hidden?

EDIT: Is it also advisable that the seers/ other special roles also only contact Sykes via email, msn etc, so that the vampires cant find them throught the status screen?

How do they know who the other Seer is though?
There are two Seers and each Seer has a potential 57 other players who could be a Seer. So it's about 29/1 chance of a Seer finding the other Seer at this stage in the game and those odds aren't going to improve very quickly, we will have lost the game way before then.

If the two Seers do happen to find each other then that is great, but it's unlikely and so they're probably better off taking a punt with the first villager they find (53/1 chance of being The Count).

The key to finding vampires is to think like them, if you were a vampire what would you want and what would you want to avoid?

Primarily they want to avoid being caught, to do this they need to blend in. At the early stage of the game this is easy because with so many players in the game they can sit back and watch quietly.

1) they will look to have at least one or two active players to sow seeds and keep conversation on track, also to influence voting

2) they will have many inactive players, look at what's happened so far. In the early stages of the game people have no leads so jump on every little fact or statement. Posting anything makes you a target.

3) they will want to cause confusion and chaos, they will create wild theories and point the finger, of course subtly or else they will become targets themselves. Seep mentality will mean that once an accusation is made others will follow and twist things to look like they are guilty.

4) they will not want to go for mayor too early as it again makes them noticed. They want to blend in without being too quiet, they will go for mayor after several days but early on they have no fear of losing, the odds of 2 vamps up for vote is low, so they can control voting.

5) they will manipulate voting, all vamps will vote even inactive ones.

6) if they are found, they will distance themselves from others, often they will publicly challenge each other to give sense of plausible deniability should anything go wrong.

7) as the game progresses they will have more imput into the thread as inactive players are weeded out.

8) they will target clever players, they will kill off those with good ideas to prevent teamwork.

The above are my suggestions but above all remember this is a game of deception and they can only win by staying hidden. Brash comments etc will get them noticed. Of course they may have one or two vamps acting as wildly outlandlish players to throw people off.

9) trust no one, make your own decision don't follow what others suggest unless you believe it true, sheep mentality helps them win and allows them to manipulate!

Good luck people!

Surprised at these names being inactive as they have been big players in the past. Obviously it's very early days yet though.

Is aaron still in Japan? If so then the time difference could explain his lack of posts.
