To be honest, the "Count picks his vamps" is a bit odd. It isn't a biased rule per se, but it could have worked out in either side's favour.
I said, when I was picked, that the death of me would have been a Seer and a vigi. I was quite paranoid that if I survived longer than five days or so, I'd get Seered, or I'd be Seered as a useful ally.
I think, on the balance of things, picking the vampires gives the villagers a bit of an advantage, as it allows them an early lead somewhat when it comes to Seerings. Wiggles logic in picking, what I thought was quite a strong vamp line up, was sound but it also works the other way and gives you some prime suspects to Seer. This leads me on to the big flaw with AYAW in general, now that we have played so many games of it - I'll do a post about that later.
It's not sour grapes to say that the villagers were, initially, quite lucky. We had a list of four or five players to nab and TAP was on that (it was TAP, Nood, Mocky, Ob Blov, Satriales, Corazon) that we were going to kill and, as Zeni said, we were prevented from doing this until the third day. On that third day, Mocky was mayor and we knew we were going to have to make a stab at getting the Seer that night - we plumped for Nood as the high-priority target as Zeni was in communication with him.
They were also very lucky to have TAP chosen as a Seer.
We had a very tricksy plan to try and get Mori off on Day 3 as well, which I will run into later on. Needless to say, we knew Dang Chris was a vigi and we were going to get him to shoot Mocky, who we were first told only had protecting from the lynchings. It was a very ambitious plan to say the least.
Why Mori told StayDead of Chris, I dunno, as I could have at least stayed alive another night and we could have got three kills a bit longer. I presume Mori was so desperate when it looked like he was going to go that he tried to save himself by persuading people he was trustworthy. When Pxyl offered to stitch that vote up though... we were laughing.
That night was the turning point really. If we'd picked our kills a little differently we'd have probably went on to win, but TAP survived and got in and from that point it was only really a matter of time.
Villager of the game from our point, I say, is Bork.
TAP was the best player, but he arguably had it "easy" with his insider Seer knowledge and being protected from the second day onwards, he didn't have much playing to do after that, apart from picking us off.
So, I'd say Bork was the "best" player in that he was probably often in the dark and in danger of death, but his vampire picks were unnervingly good. He's actually a player I had pinned down as a possible special role (I think another vamp did as well) and someone I would have picked as a vamp.
Five vampires kills in about 6 days is either very lucky, or very cunning.
