Just finished Point Lookout, but my game has suddenly started crashing! It's happened 3 times in the last hour? Anyone have any ideas why this might have started happening? I'm on the 360 BTW

Is this so much better on the PC that is worth picking up to start another play through?

I have the PS3 version and the cheapest I can find for the GOTY version is £20, the PC is just over a tenner on Amazon which is ridiculously cheap for my favourite game ever.

Well you can get mods and gamerpoints for the PC version and it'll no doubt look better so why not? Especially at that price.

I presume that mouse aim means the none vats combat will be merely gooseberry fool, rather than totally gooseberry fool as it is on consoles.

Can't say. I always played Fallout 3 on PC with my 360 controller.

Yes. Some of the mods I've mentioned earlier in this thread make the game an almost completely different experience.

Install Fallout to the hard drive if it isn't already and maybe try re-downloading Point Lookout.

I was sure there was a way to say sorry and make a character friendly again after you try to pickpocket them and they turn red and run away from you, but I don't seem to be able to find it :( Am I thinking of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.? :shifty:

I think people "forget" your actions after a few days, I'm not totally sure though.

You are not filling me with much confidence. I've yet to do this DLC on my current (and final) playthrough.

In other news, I upped the difficulty in this and I am getting absolutely raped. The sentry bots in the National archives killed me so many times.

God, Mothership Zeta is awful. Dodgy framerate, bad screen tearing, etc.

Forgot all about this! Seems it was mainly down to the fact that I had so many saves! I deleted them and it all worked fine!

Upped to hard or beyond hard? I'm playing on hard and I'm just about surviving but I'm irradiated all the time because of the amount of water I have to drink  Oh and if my limbs didn't automatically heal when I get irradiated almost everything would be crippled. Just managed to find GNR studios and meet three dog with like 20 HP, no food, no stimpacks, no nearby water, no ammo, and a few of my guns are even b0rked  Fired up a stealth boy (thank god I found that stealth boy) to sneak past all the ghouls in the final metro tunnel stretch and then met the Brotherhood  Helped them out against the super mutants with my Chinese officer's sword and then used the last of my ammo on the giant behemoth thing (when in retrospect I should have just used my bottlecap mine). So now what? There doesn't seem to be anywhere I can resupply so I'm strawberry floated  I'm going to have to fast travel back to Megaton which is going to break the fourth wall and kind of ruin the game for me a little but I'll get over it.

Yep, playing it on hard, I'm experiencing the same stuff you have. No stimpacks, guns keep breaking, limbs are always shattered, radiation poisoning. The Mall strip was a nightmare that never ended, just about found refuge in Underworld after getting attacked by like five super mutants with miniguns and hunting rifles. The ghoul chick that guards Underworld kinda bought it

Things are looking up but I'm dreading later on when I go up against Ghoul reavers, albino radscorpions, super mutant overlords etc.

I wouldn't play it any other way  I wish you could duck lower than you can though! Would make taking cover a little easier.

I still haven't reactivated my Live sub yet so I was wondering if anyone could tell me the going rate for the DLC downloads? Are they still 400 points each as the title suggests?

Can't wait to get back into this! :)

Just received Fallout 3 for a birthday present and as I've never really played a game like it before is there anything I should particularly look out for like a bug, or even something to avoid? I'm looking forward to getting started but must admit I'm slightly apprehensive after popping into this thread over time and seeing how many hours people have put in.

The only thing I would say is don't max out a stat until you've got the hidden bobblehead for it. Each skill has an associated bobblehead that will raise it by 10 or int he case of SPECIAL, by 1. So don't waste your skill points maxing a stat until you have the bobblehead!

The easiest one to get is the Medicine Bobblehead, which is in your Dad's office in Vault 101.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
