Yeah, just shrug it off. That's what people in the military do.

WH40k: Fire Warrior had the best representation I have seen. Your regenerating armour can take about 3 hits before you start losing health. It doesn't make you feel safe at all when a guardsmen with a lasgun (an assault rifle somewhere inbetween a candle and a halogen torch in terms of power) can take you out with a couple of shots.

I don't like those warhammer games, they're such a rip-off of Blizzard!

I don't mind it in Halo, as you're wearing Power Armour so at least it makes a modicum of sense. It makes literally no sense in Call of Duty or any FPS where you're, you know, not wearing power armour.

What, and picking up a little box with a Red Cross on it to make your dozens of bullet wounds go away does make sense?

Games don't have to be realistic, it's about fun, with a game as fast paced as COD regenerating health makes sense, anything else would probably be game-breaking.

If you take the realism approach then how do you explain Freeman's plethora of weapons? It's a ridiculous approach to take, not that health pack based health is realistic anyway.

Half Life 2 is one of the most tedious games I've ever played.
AS is GTA 4.
As is Mass Effect.

Also person who said A Link to the Past was gooseberry fool and Links Awakening was better? SERIOUSLY? I thought the latter was awful for a Zelda game, Zelda 2 was better.

Oblivion is a big heap of poo
Animal Crossing is terrible

those are the only games i've ever bought then returned to the shop the next day because playing them made me actually think "what have i done?"

i've also never been able to get away with wipeout (as the recent PSN freebies has proved again!) - but i love F-Zero
also Bayonetta is a recent 'highly praised' game that i played the demo and really didn't enjoy. oh and dragon age two.

I've never enjoyed the Elder Scroll games (games = that one on the old Xbox and Oblivion) as the melee fighting feels so bleh. And Oblivion lasted all of 10 minutes as I couldn't stand the menus... though that was in the days of GAME still having their 10 days return rental service so that didn't help matters. Saying all that I'll still be getting Skyrim as they're obviously good games, it's just a matter of getting into them and I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later.

the only game i think i've played that had realistic getting shot and been killed, wounded etc was rainbow 6 rogue spear.

you get shot once, you die, if you had heavy class gear (body armour in the from of a bullet proof vest) you may survive a 9mm round, but you'll still die if shot by anything 7.62mm. shot in the leg, you may still be able to play to finish the mission but your rainbow six agent is going to limp about and not be able to focus in on shots as quick, AND if you finish the mission you can garentee he/she will be incapacitated for the next few missions while they heal up. strawberry float it even if they don't get shot but you use the same agent too much their stats drop as they get tired.

strawberry floating great game, no health packs, no regen, balls to the walls, head out of your ass otherwise you will die. and if you die your character don't come back, they be dead.

thats why all console versions of the rainbow six series suck, they made it too easy, and lost all the tactical play from the PC versions, half the game used to be planning then action, now its all action and just the same bullshit gameplay all FPS games are.

Hate halo.

And dislike red dead redemption and GTA4. What was all the fuss about?

Wait, you like Halo Wars, but not the rest of the franchise?

Yeah, what I can I say, I thought it was pretty fun game. It controlled well given the limitations of the input and I liked the single player campaign. Not the most balanced RTS game, I'll admit.

I've played ODST and Halo 3. Neither really excited me on any level. I'll give Reach a play whenever it's cheaper to get, not really expecting anything stellar however.

The original's campaign is easily the best of the series and 3's is probably the best from the games this generation. It might be worth waiting for the port of the original but if you're not much of a fan just wait until it's cheap.

I don't think it's crap but Halo has always seemed over-hyped to me. Massively over-hyped.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Just couldn't get into it and it really wasn't that funny.
