Well for me -
The GTA games (perhaps Red Dead Redemption too. I haven't played enough of it yet). I don't really like sandbox games too much.
Child Of Eden
Borderlands
Every Zelda game after Ocarina Of Time
Every Call Of Duty game after Call Of Duty 2
Every Final Fantasy after VI

Lost Odyssey - Ugh, hated it due to the boring battle system, cringeworthy plot moments and irritating characters.
Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga - I really wanted to like this, it just felt too different to the portable Paper Mario I was hoping it would play like.
Deus Ex - I'd had enough after five minutes.

Also I kinda agree with people saying Halo. I enjoyed the games, but the stories were pretty generic. Aliens, religious stuff, space marine saves the day, yawn. Seen it before.

I'm trying to get into Bayonetta at the moment and I'm really struggling to see what all those GRcaders saw in it way back when.

Grand Theft Auto IV - Unlikeable, bipolar main character. Laggy as strawberry float controls and the hilariously archaic control scheme just pissed me off. Couple that with the scripted missions, rubbish shooting mechanics and lack of mid-mission checkpoints which massively pissed me off.

Read Dead Redemption - Just dull as strawberry float. Gave up once I crossed the river into Mexico. Also, the same control problems as GTAIV.

Uncharted 1 - Glorified third person shooter that people mistakenly labelled as some sort of grand, Tomb Raider-esque adventure. The bullet sponge enemies and QTE final boss can piss off too.

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker - The worst of the modern Zeldas. Boring overworld and the massive slog was made even worse by the tedious triforce collection quest. The fact that, while sailing, you had to stop and play a song if you wanted to change direction only made things worse. Sadly people seemed to forgive all its obvious faults due to The Charm™ of the graphics.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - One massive slog after another. Tried to replay it on numerous occasions and always end up giving up out of sheer boredom around the 5th or 6th dungeon. Mistakenly labelled as the best 2D Zelda, when in fact Link's Awakening is.

Resistance 1 & 2 - Only seems to be loved by Sony fans, strangely enough. The first game was only given so much attention, praise and hype due to it being a PS3 launch game. Average at best.

Final Fantasy 7 - Overhyped by many people due to it being their first JRPG. Certainly not the best JRPG ever.

Dead Rising 1 - horrendous difficulty curve is all over the place, especially with the psychopath bosses and those convicts. Truly terrible controls as well.

Modern FIFA games. They control like elephants walking through treacle. Obsessed with realism at the expense of actually being fun, but they don't even manage to be authentic.

Pretty much every single FPS nowadays. I just don't enjoy them as much as I used to.
Never found Gran Turismo games that fun either. I expect this extends to most other 'serious racing experience' type games
Pred wrote:Super Mario 64.

I've tried playing it numerous times but never got into it.

Also this. Couldn't get into it, or Sunshine, so I didn't bother with the Galaxy games. 2D Mario's are still great though.

It isn't a slog at all.

I'll go for the more recent COD games. MW2 was alright, but I didn't find them enjoyable after that.

All final fantasy games (i've brought like 6 of them, never got on with any)
All Mario games
Zelda games (bar ocarina)
Lost Odyssey
Halo
Dead Rising (purely for the strawberry floating shite save system)
God of War
Hitman games (i actually do like the games, but i just gooseberry fool at them so i get no enjoyment out of playing them, so that kinda counts :shifty: )
Pretty much any FPS these days (totally gone off that type of game now)

There are probs more, my tastes have become so...particular in recent years. I'm very picky over my games now.

I think the internet has won, I'm too scared to say Half-Life 2. I do genuinely think it's terrible though, it's not an exaggeration. It doesn't even have a zoom for your gun. What makes it horrible is that it's such a grind, it frequently tries to throw everything at you in an attempt to be epic and exciting, but because of the gooseberry fool controls and gooseberry fool AI and gooseberry fool level design it punishes you with tedium. I can't believe that a game can get away with having stand off sections no matter how in love with it you are at the time. I would have thought after your 8th death a person would begin to question if the game is all that special. Because they can do that, keep throwing stuff at you, and as long as you're engrossed, it becomes more and more tense. But if it loses you along the way, it becomes a grind. Stuff like ammo and health scarcely matter because you pick them up more all the time, which means you're more careless until it hits you hard when you reach one of those protect this area from all incoming threats type section. It isn't generous in adding new enemies and new set pieces that make it worth playing, worth persisting, worth struggling with.

It made me think of how a similar thing in Resident Evil 4 wasn't tedious, and it's because there will be an idea behind it. Like get your sniper rifle out, protect Ashley on the upper level from both sides, as well as protect yourself from the zombies approaching you on the floor. You've got to be quick, know when to reload your sniper rifle, risk looking through the sight when you know you could be clubbed any second. Then they grab her! And you can choose to take the risky shot from behind or run to get a better angle and closer with a rapid machine gun. It doesn't last long either. They don't just pile on a dozen more zombies, and crank up the difficulty leading you to become frustrated. It ends sooner than it could, it's so fun if you do it the first time you want to do it again. Half-Life 2, on the other hand. There's a block in the middle, your mates are there, and space all around, two streets either side, force fields trapping you. You sort of just run around like a loon shooting. You've got to protect your mates or else. Ashley is just a teenager, she's vulnerable and that's what makes it so satisfying trying to protect her. My mates in Half-Life 2 just sort of stand in the middle and do strawberry float all. The gunplay reminds me of Mirrors Edge, in that the enemies take devastating amounts of health off you with few shots, and when you're being shot to gooseberry fool it's quite terrifying. That being the idea..but there's no way to be strategic about it. At least in Gears of War you can hide behind a little wall or in Halo/COD recharge. Or with Goldeneye at least zoom in, or perfect your strafing so you can watch them fire in one direction as you take them from the side. Goldeneye was glorious when you're running through corridors shooting away because the death animations were in slow motion compared to the kind you get now. Now they just snap to the floor.

ok bored now there's just so much, it's like a labyrinth of misery.

fifa's poo too, so true.

all pokemon games after red, blue and yellow, and even they are a pain, running about in grass fighting rataka's over and over, or god damn zubats in caves, just to level up once every one else has been fought.

but seriously, every time i've tried to get into a new pokemon i just can't, they've gone too far, breeding, too many classes of pokemon its all too much.

and angry birds, its gooseberry fool.

new rainbow six games, anything after rogue spear sucked, lost all the tactical play, just another run of the mill shooter.

The amount of people who seem to dislike the Halo series makes me think that it's not even a series that everyone loves, so shouldn't really be in here.

The one that springs to mind for me is the Metal Gear Solid series. Tried MGS1 and Snake Eater, and I don't get it at all.

And Halo, but it's not surprising as I don't tend to like FPS games. Not a fan of GTA either (Vice City aside, which I did like).

Oh yeah Resi 4, repetitive arcade shooter. Removed everything that made the series great in the first place.
