I haven't called anybody a name

I told BS to not bother arguing with retards about Halo, if you want to argue with him about the value of something that has gained widespread critical acclaim, tens of millions of sales and created a huge fanbase then jump in, be my guest.

You know what else gained widespread critical acclaim? strawberry floating K-On.

You know why?

Because the dumb gooseberry fools who like it are the strawberry floaters who review it.

Critical acclaim means nothing. What matters is personal experience and what you got from something, not what some shitty magazine told you to think about it. You're supposed to be a grown man, wise up and act like it you utter burke.

So what, he like what he likes. The way certain people jump on him every single time he posts is stupid. If you know he is an Xbox fanboy then why bother to engage in these discussions with him?

There are plenty of people who obviously like one console/company here, why is he any different.

It's not really up for debate when you are factually wrong. There's no point in arguing when you are completely oblivious to that. If I was "running scared" to other members I'd be reporting you to the mods for being a trolling idiot and participating in intentionally turn that thread into an absolute clusterfuck, but that's pointless these days since nothing really gets done about it. You've been banned before for something similar anyway, I thought that would be enough for you to learn your lesson but obviously not.

I'm not factually wrong though, that's the tragic thing.

@Brerlappins - 'Well thats nice, if you dont like Halo your'e now a retard?' - LOL

@Staydead - 'Generic' is the biggest bandwagon, hearsay, cop out argument in the entirety of the Halo debate. So many people who criticise Halo are quite literally incapable of putting substantial criticism against it. I could criticise Halo more constructively than most people here. I'd mention the misuse of the flood, the way the story wasn't as clear and concise as it could've been, the failure to intertwine the vast lore with the core games and finally the inconsistent character development. But no, those arguments require actual effort! I'll just jump on the vague bandwagon arguments with words such as 'generic', 'overrated', 'dull' and 'average' instead.

@Falsey - Another cop out, he 'must' be an xbox fanboy. My brain can't rack up any other reason for why he might like Halo!

Id consider it a moral obligation to 'jump on' anybody who is devoted to a single platform. They are what has made this generation so utterly unbearable so much of the time.

BS just so happens to be the very special breed that makes 'facts' up from his magic hat of gooseberry fool gathering, then spins them to his own devices. When called on this, he take to jibes in PM's or states that everyone else is wrong and then he runs away.

Let's not single out posters guys.

People like what they like. So what if they are aligned to a platform, how does it affect you and your gaming habits?

Buying something != enjoying it.

Ever heard of buyers remorse?

Personally, I bought Demons Souls and didnt like it. It wasnt the game for me, sure, it may have been reviewed highly elsewhere, a lot of people really liked it, thats why I bought it. But I didnt like it.

Am I wrong now because Edge magazine disagrees with me? Am I wrong because hundreds of thousands of other people bought it? Am I wrong because it wasnt on my most played platform?

Well oustside of games forums you'll find very few people own more than one console each gen, it's the exception rather than the rule. That you feel it is some sort of moral duty to jump on people who happen to like one thing is quite bizzarre.

the way the story wasn't as clear and concise as it could've been, the failure to intertwine the vast lore with the core games and finally the inconsistent character development

That's been my biggest problem with the franchise in recent years. It's like they create this amazing backstory, and then go: "actually, the people who buy the games aren't going to care about this brilliant story, they just want to shoot aliens in the face. Let's just keep it all in the books". Even if they didn't try and explain it during the game, some kind of unlockable encyclopaedia of Halo knowledge wouldn't have gone amiss.

Back this up with hard facts.

If you care to dig, I think you'll find I was cautiously optimistic and took a chance.

Then the second game would bomb, Halo 2 didn't bomb. Maybe they were suckered twice eh? How many did Halo 3 sell again and Halo Reach

Exactly man, I was so hyped when I thought Reach would focus on all of the events of 'The Fall of Reach', but instead we get a bunch of characters that caused canonical issues and generally added nothing to the universe. This is why I argue Halo 2 is the best one, it layed the foundations for all of the lore in the universe. It was the most rich of all of the Halo games.
