I honestly didn't expect anything but Starcraft to top my list this year, but Halo Reach turned out to be a truly exceptional game and possibly the best entry in the entire series. There's nary a misstep in the whole package. Blizzard pipped Bungie to dev of the year simply because they continued their untarnished run of excellent games and solidified themselves as the Pixar of the videogame world.
