Skippy wrote:Yeah I completely forgot about this :shifty: No need to rush anything though so let's just have a look at the list as of when the last thread was closed and see if we can't make a few slight adjustments. There are 160 games which will be put into 20 groups of 8 which will be whittled down further and further in a tournament style until we have our winner. For now though let's look at the list

38. Fallout 3

58. GTA San Andreas
60. Half Life 2 (+ Episodes)
87. Metal Gear Solid 2
88. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

115. Resident Evil 4
120. Shadow of the Colossus
121. Shenmue
122. Silent Hill 2

139. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

148. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

These I think.

Yeah this thread was more about the tale-end games of the last year and whether they could get in. General consensus on Saboteur was that it's crap so no dice on that one but Assassin's Creed 2 and Boarderlands have found a place at the expense of the Buzz games and Black.

Yeah I pretty much just looked at the top of the list :shifty:

What, that is beyond retarded :fp:

But since none of them will come close to winning anyway I don't suppose it matters, but still :fp: :fp: :fp:

Why do you care about Black? It's just some terrible console fps.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Yeah, but people have actually played it now. And everyone who has played it thinks that it's brilliant.

I've not played it, and I've a feeling that if I did play it now I'd be underwhelmed because other games have appropriated its ideas and its visuals have been surpassed.

I was just listing my favourites. I wouldn't ever suggest a list of my favourite games to be in any way 'definitive' or 'best'.

Surely you'd rather have me be honest than pick Deus Ex when I've not played it just because loads of people think it's great.

I had no idea you hadn't played it  . And yeah I do think you should pick your favourites over popular opinion.

However the reason Deus Ex remains so good is that other games have been totally unsuccessful at integrating its ideas. No other game does story quite like Deus Ex, no other game lets you play how you want quite like Deus Ex. And with modern texture upgrades the game looks better than it ever did.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I'll give it a bash someday, I think. I'm a little too busy to play games I don't need to play for work, or those I don't really really want to play. It's in an increasing list of 'games I think I should play but can't really muster the enthusiasm to dedicate my spare time to'.

Just realized PP that Phatom Hourglass is in there, it should absolutely be replaced with Spirit Tracks which is significantly better, everyone in the thread thinks so.
