As a longtime fan of the FD series for being irresistibly gooseberry fool, this does actually look alright.

I mean, gooseberry fool, obviously, but it looks like they're actually playing around with some new-ish ideas (even if the life-for-a-lifestuff was hinted at, albeit from the opposite side, in FD2). It seems to have reeled itself in a little more from the (awesome) insanity that was TFD, so colour me interested.

Neil Burger to direct the 'Uncharted' film

After the much-publicised, creative differences-fuelled departure of David O Russell from the video game adaptation Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, producers Avi Arad, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner have been scouting around for someone new to sit in the big folding chair. Now it looks like they have their man, with Limitless director Neil Burger in negotiation to take on the job.

Burger, who also directed The Illusionist (the Edward Norton magician drama, not the ‘toon) and The Lucky Ones, apparently impressed the producers and the bosses at Sony with his take on the material, which means he’ll be writing another new draft of the script originally penned by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer.

The studio is itching to get moving on the film, which it is no doubt hoping will launch an Indiana Jones-style franchise about the rugged Nathan Drake, a descendant of Sir Frances Drake, who goes on the quest to find the lost treasure of El Dorado (the lost city of gold, not the long since cancelled BBC soap opera).

Though Mark Wahlberg was considering playing Drake when Russell was in the director’s chair, it’s unknown whether he’d still want to star now that his good friend is no longer shepherding the film. Still, Burger has proved he’s a solid filmmaker and perhaps it’ll give other people a chance to win the lead role. That sound you hear is Nathan Fillion’s agent planning the world’s biggest cupcake basket delivery for Burger’s house.

That actually looks alright. Doesn't look good enough for me to spend money on going to the cinema, but I might rent the DVD. ;)

Unfortunately I cannot find the exact trailer, but suffice to say Pedro Almodóvar's latest flick, The Skin I Live In, looks great. He's the trailer most resembling the one I recently saw:

There had been rumors for several weeks that Arnold Schwarzeneger was dipping his toe back in the acting pool, after pulling it out when the scandal over his out-of-wedlock son broke in May.

The director Schwarzenegger was said to be meeting was Kim-ji-Woon, helmer of the western "The Last Stand," to which the former governor had been attached before the love-child scandal hit. On Monday his representative confirmed that a deal was completed just a few days ago and that Schwarzenegger would indeed make his return to acting with Kim's film. It will be Schwarzenegger's first significant part since "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" in 2003.

The South Korean director of well-regarded foreign-language films such as revenge-thriller "I Saw the Devil" is making his English-language debut with "Last Stand." The movie, which aims to shoot this year, tells of a standoff between the leader of a drug cartel and an aging border-town sheriff (Schwarzenegger) who must decide how much he wants to risk his life to protect his town from the criminal. Like another movie Schwarzenegger had been pondering, "Cry Macho," the story contains significant comeback overtones, which seem even more resonant -- or eerie -- after the actor's latest hiatus.

Indeed, an amazing shot for what is sure to be one of the best movies ever.

What the hell could be causing that and is it something we can expect to see in the actual film?

No. Also, is anyone else getting distinctly Inception-y vibes from those collapsing buildings?

It's probably just a metaphor for Batman's world crumbling around him.

Re: That Dark Knight poster, I was a teeny bit miffed after I'd seen the film that it wasn't actually in the movie.
