There's at least 4 other bakers who were clearly better than Laura and would have done a much better job in the final.

Peter deserved to win, although you could kind of tell he'd win from the 1st episode. But nice to see how much he loved Bake Off when he was a kid.

Although just on the final episode it did look like Dave had done better as he won the technical and the show stoppers seemed pretty even, as did the 1st challenge from what I can remember.

Gutted Laura didn't win with those custard slices

If there was any doubt that Laura didn't belong in the final was those custard slices, pretty sure I could've made something better than that.

Glad Peter won but it was the worse line-up for a final in along time.

I mean, of course her strawberry floating custard wasn't going to set. It wasn't even vaguely surprising.

Laura delivered as ever.

I'm still livid that Hermine lost her place in the final to strawberry floating Laura of all people. She strawberry floats up literally everything she does, and still pulls a win out of her arse!

Peter was a shoe-in, I've been certain of it since the beginning. I'm glad he won, he seems like a lovely lad.

Dave also deserved his place in the final, but I've wanted to punch his stupid smug face ever since flygate in episode 1.

I liked Laura being there to see Noel and Matt be so nice and motivational to her only for Noel to turn around and stab her in the back in the judging tent by pointing out how bad she's been every week.

Ok yeah, that was pretty funny

It is a little bit hypocritical to defend the integrity of the judging process, but also seemingly take no notice of the fact that in three of the last four weeks the hosts have had to give Laura 1-to-1 resilience training as she's burst into tears under the pressure. Hermine and Lottie finished their flawed bakes independently. Laura was about to crack every week and got helped out by Noel and Matt to finish.

I really like Laura, she seems lovely and she is clearly a really good baker, but she absolutely could not handle the pressure. Hermine and Lottie performed much better in that respect but that seemingly counted for nothing.

Once you see what's on Noel's shirt this week, there's no unseeing it.
