I clicked this thread by accident, but as someone without a clue is this a bad thing?

It’s a sound idea in principle, but in open wheel car it just looks awful, I also have no idea how the bell these would work either, do they stop the race to fit them? Slot them on in pit stops? Different covers that cover different conditions so they could be on all of the race?

Been watching the 6 hours of Spa this afternoon, really becoming a fan of multi class racing, think they should try F1 and F2 running together one day, it'd be utter carnage

Albon confirmed at Williams for the 25 and 26 seasons.

Can't say I'm surprised. He's doing ok but I couldn't see any of the other teams jumping at him so staying at Williams makes sense.

How long till Sargent gets the boot?

Staying for 2026 is a bit of a shock in my opinion, but not like there is loads of seats on offer and I assume him now signing for Williams means any talks with any of the top teams with open seats for 2026 have fallen through.

Newey confirms he's not retiring yet and "seriously considering changing teams" for the last 4-5 years or so of his career.

As much as I would love him at Mclaren, I think the momentum is all Ferrari at the moment. Newey, Hamilton and Leclerc would be a hell of a combination if they hit the ground running in 26.

Well he’s had a change since when the career break was first announced then  he previously said he was going to travel through France in a camper van with his wife and dogs, the gardening leave is essentially just Newey only working on the Red Bull hypercar then. I’d still be amazed if he’s allowed to start anywhere before the start of 2026.

Anyone seen the latest trailer for F1 Manager 2024? Looks like a bigger upgrade than the 2023 version in my opinion, much better priced at £30 as well, hope the Switch might get the 25 version, hopefully the Switch will have been out a few months by that point.

Oh I'm sure he'll take a month or so off at some point to do that. Sounds fun actually.

Not sure I'm going to bother with F1M24. Barely touched the last one. But we'll see how it goes.

The prospect of being give the chance to design a ferrari road car (or cars) would surely be the carrot of all carrots. Imagine something like the F40 designed by him.

I only ever played a little of the 23 game via Game Pass, wasn’t worth the £45-50 they were wanting for it, hopefully going for a more aggressive price point helps them shift more units.

I’m pretty sure this is what could sway him, just a bit of a shame whichever team he goes to will want him to design the F1 car first.

You know who wouldn’t? Williams :shifty:

Unless they bring out a 2025 Renault Clio Williams-Newey edition, it’d actually be fascinating to see his take on a hot hatch to be honest

I realise I got my above post mixed up above, Williams would only want him to design an F1 car  :fp:

Glad to be back to the European tracks now, more importantly not a sprint weekend ruining things! :toot:

Mercedes and Ferrari looking quick, Red Bull (well, Verstappen) looking quick but struggling to string a good lap together.

Good to see a proper classic race track for once!

Agreed! Other than Suzuka, its been a poor start to the year from the tracks, used to enjoy Australia, probably more down to it being the opener rather than a belter of a race though, hopefully we get a better race this weekend :toot:
