Just wait until your phone decides to do something gooseberry fool when trying to pay for your goods.

I refuse to pay for anything with a phone, i only ever use the card for smaller stuff if there's no cash option.

I've been waiting a few years now. You don't need signal or any kind of active online connection. They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.

I would be up gooseberry fool creek now if I tried to use a real card and they asked me for my PIN .

I use my normal card and I keep forgetting my pin. Thankfully you don't need it for contactless and for when I do need it I can get it from my mobile banking app :slol:

If I was in power, the first thing I'd do is ban the BBC from platforming any think tanks.

Well yes, that was my point, all payment options have pros and cons.

Although it is much harder to use a stolen phone to pay for things as you use your face/fingerprint to authorise the payment. Whereas your stolen cash can immediately be used to buy drugs. Which funds terrorism and downloaded cars. You strawberry floating monster.

Single-sex toilets are set to become a legal requirement for all new bars, restaurants, offices and shopping centres under new laws proposed by the government.

Self-contained toilets for both sexes may be provided in addition to single-sex toilets, or if there isn't enough space.

Care homes, hotels, schools, cells in custodial facilities, and buildings used for early years provision are all exempt from the proposed legislation.

The law would affect England only and applies to new buildings as well as existing premises that undergo a material change of use.

The Tories won't be around long enough to actually enact this. But, still, I guess as Rwanda didn't manage to attract the Reform bigots, the only thing they have left is trying to attract the vote of Rowling/Linehan bigots.

I always suspected Vermi was behind 9/11, and now, all these years later, the truth has finally come out.

For shame, Vermi, for shame!! :capnscotty:

I don't know about that.

But I do know that Bin Laden never used contactless or a phone for any payments :capnscotty:

Surprised there's been no comment reaction to this. Seems pretty serious.

Don't worry, I'm sure Grant will sort the mess out...

The student protests are 100% justified if they’re calling for peace, a ceasefire and possibly the surrender of Netanyahu/Hamas. There can be no lasting compromise whilst both aggressors remain.

Calling for the abolition of Israel and the reintroduction of Palestine shows a complete lack of awareness of why the Allies set the state back up in the first place.

Natalie Elphicke MP has defected from the Tories to Labour.

She's married to Charles Elphicke who used to be a Tory MP before being forced to resign for sexual harassment, he was later convicted of sex offences. She then took his seat. And then breached the code of conduct due to her attempting to influence the judges in her husband's appeal.

I get that the focus for Labour is reducing that Tory majority and getting an election asap. But that's a really bad strawberry floating call. Make her sit by herself in disgrace.

If you move from one party to another it should be an automatic by election.

Has any MP tried to defect and then been rejected?

I'm sure Tice claimed recently that he rejected a few Tory MPs that wanted to join Reform.

I'm not sure I believe him though.

I think they just said on Politics Live she's standing down and there's another Labour candidate for Dover so it's just a very public kick in the bollocks for the Tories.

Eurgh. Don't want any Tories at all, but 2019 Tories are particularly detestable :dread: strawberry float off.

I suspect the deal was to let her join or she wouldn't leave the Tories, and Starmer simply couldn't resist the forbidden fruit. To be fair, it is a big blow to a PM and government focusing so much energy on 'Stop The Boats' for the Dover MP to do this. All they've got left is laws about toilets.

But still... eurgh :dread: strawberry float off!

Edit - actually, I'm struggling to believe she would have made that ultimatum. He probably just couldn't resit the symbolism of the direct 'from them to us'.

That's good, because she's an appalling human being.
