My friend took me into a shop by the same name in London. I have never been so bored in my life. It's all that Japanese cartoon stuff for "adults".

And also sci-fi, TV, film memorabilia and that kind of stuff.

Sorry but why is this a sticky? we have established nothing, nor has anything been proven, if they had a leak by now it would be more widely known.

How would it if there has been a leak they have successfully fobbed you off with a lie while they fixed it? Don't believe evrything a company tells you of course they weill deny it can you not see the disaster waiting to happen if that news was confirmed and hit the media?

The threads here to give information for a possible breach if you don't care why are you in this thread?

What the strawberry float are you talking about? If they had a leak, more people would have been hit, and thus creating widespread knowledge, and eventual admittance by the company.

Sorry to bump;

Friend was a bit miffed at work today; he got his first credit card come last week, and his one and only purchase was to upload details to shopto and to pre-order a few games; the next day money was missing from his card. Checked with issuer yesterday regarding it and his card had been used with a London company that helps get fake details for immigrants.

So as far as I am concerneed I don't feel safe using shopto, regardless of jay's stern defence for them

Methinks I should start looking back through my statements, just in case. I only use my debit card with them, though.

You should really always look at your statements, you are pretty much asking to be ripped off if you don't.

Not that theres really a major problem with having your CC details taken to be honest, you are covered, you'll never have to pay for anything and you'll get replacement cards almost immediately. It might be a slight inconvenience, but no more than that....like I said assuming you are being sensible and checking your statements (which you should always do no matter what).

Bump.

Someone used my debit card details to buy £30 worth of pre-pay credit from O2 last week. Can't really say for sure whether it's related to all this business regarding Shopto - this particular card has seen a lot of action, if you get my drift - but it's still a pisser nonetheless.

Check your statements people.

Just had a call from my credit card company. Some 'asian gentleman' is trying to buy a car using my details, charging 2 x £1000 to it :shock:

Got a call from Barclay card to say that my card had been used 5 times on sunday night at a online casino for various large amounts.

I'm always wary of anecdotal evidence, but when they stack up this high, it's kind of hard to ignore. Don't think I'll ever be using shopto again.

Debit card blocked, cut up, new one on the way, as is a claim form to recover the money taken from my account.

That's interesting, as Barclay's told me not to use Shopto - thus I've completely avoided them. This was long before customers were having problems with fraud, too.
