I'm saying that it's odd you telling me that I need to get "help". Yet you're so upset over my decisions what games I want to buy and play; and on top of that you manage to break drum kit for Rock Band back in day, which means huge of money gone down shitter by breaking it. Oh that and Dark Souls incident.

So, rich from someone who may need "help".

I don't think Chalky is "upset" about what games people choose to buy, he just wishes people wouldn't buy bad games. I really don't think Chalky is bawling into his handkerchief because someone bought Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2: Yeovil Town 3.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

One man's meat is another man's poison. You can't call a game bad and expect everyone to feel the same way. Even in regards to Sonic.

Wasn't being serious about my point, Staydead defence here I know :P He does seem act like it by going on it more than few times, though.

Alvin you have to seek help mate, there hasn't been a proper good 2D sonic game since Sonic3K.

Any body? No?

Well I have it, I really like it, half way through the second zone and dedicate variety already! Special stages are ace and also had a blast at Episode Metal which is solid!

All in all great work so far!

I played the demo and thought it was horseshit on a stick. Unless you're super quick, it times out before you even finish the first act, too. :fp:

People playing the Episode Metal freebie (the only semblance of a lock-on mode between episodes, sadly) have been bitching that you only get to play one act of each zone from the first episode.

Other complaints center around the music, which, apparently, in trying harder to be more like the MegaDrive originals which they've been trying so hard to get close to, somehow manages to be even worse than the synthy Episode 1 score. I can't say if they're on the money or not by saying that, I have yet to play the demo, but if they are, then Sonic Team ought to look to Generations for the kind of music styles to bring to Episode 3 and beyond. Some good stuff there.

The music in the demo was pretty bad. As was the snowball rolling and general feel of the game. Would have liked a full act to play in the trial, kinda hard to judge and what I played wasn't good.

Haven't tried the demo yet but after those reviews I don't think I'll be paying 1200 MSPs for this.

The full game is awesome, so much variety, the air ship levels make me feel like I'm playing Sonic 2 again!

I love this game! Just the right difficulty also!

Jeez, this game must have bombed at retail going on the lack of reaction in here (especially compared to Episode I).

I don't think the game is that bad, really. Okay, so it isn't anywhere near as good as the Classic series, but as far as modern Sonic games go, it is one of the best. I've always prefer Sonic 4 to Generations as well.

It looks very good - everything looks a lot more natural and has less of a plastic sheen to it compared to Episode I, and the zones are nice HD updates of Sonic themes we have seen before.

Yes, the physics are better but still not the same as the MD games and, yes, the homing attack is there, but these didn't bother me the first time around.

The level design is mostly okay. When you try and do a speed run, you definitely get more out of it, but there are some annoying quirks. Bottomless pits are labelled now and there doesn't seem to be as many (only one act stands out in my memory so far as having too many), though you still have annoying enemy placement and traps that often kill you first time around when you don't know what you are doing. The combo moves are also a little annoying and break up the flow of the game - having to stop and effectively pause the action while you slap fives with Tails is a bit jarring.

Still, I think the game is decent, and worth picking up when it inevitably gets discounted somewhere down the line. You're always going to be wanting to play Sonic 3 and Knuckles - and it would be nice if the game got more of its own identity - but as far as 2D Sonics go, it is the best we've probably had since the 90s.

Hopefully Episode 3 gets made (yes, I said that), but I think it largely depends on how much money it makes. I have a feeling a lot of people gave Episode I a chance, and it sold very well, but that this might be a bit of a flop.

Nah, Episode 1's 1200MS also. And it's about 9~12 stages, 3 or 4 bosses + 7 special stages. Not four/five stages.

Well, I bought this as I got points for cheap (since my mate wanted me to get it) and I'm really enjoying it. Co-op more so, had laughs when playing through it with mate. Stages themselves look prettier than Ep1 too, so I'm glad I got it.
