They donating 1.5m a year to Unicef and frankly I think that is generous. Look at the other big clubs instead they usually take money off the sponsors this is the other way around. This is a long term agreement (5 years) not the one off charity you guys seem to mention and they also do other charities.

Don't most of the big clubs do lots of charity work? I know United certainly does.

It's also not feasible to give up your major income stream for five years with the new financial rules, unless you're in a league where you and one other team receives a huge percentage of the television money.

I'm not disputing Barcelona's generosity, I'm simply saying that big clubs the world over donate money to charity and it would be wrong to assume that Barcelona are more generous than any other club simply because they have made a long term deal with UNICEF. I do think it's a good thing for the club to have done because it promotes UNICEF very effectively, but I don't think Barcelona are a more charitable club than any other.

Mallorca going into administration is the fault of Barcelona how exactly?

They need cash and an even tv revenue would have gave them that.

And the real bit, jesus Googling "Real Madrid Charity" is enough to disprove that

Them going into Adminstration is poor business on their side so many teams are in the la liga and they survive year after year, its completely rubbish to blame it only on TV revenue but then again you always come in here after the obvious has been said.

Half the league's in huge debt because they're trying to compete, y'know as fans of football teams want them to do. It's not Malaga's fault they're at a huge financial advantage with no magical bailout unlike those that Barca and Real have.

I did point that out and I did say they need to share more of tv revenue but for strawberry float sakes its not Barcelona's fault that Mallorca is in debt, its just them doing poor business. If you make poor decisions then you go in debt it is that simple.

Barcelona is the first team to have done this and has opened the doors for other clubs to follow. Do I think Barcelona are more charitable then other clubs? It is absolutely a respectable thing to have done but I believe the original point was that supporting UNICEF somehow proves Barcelona are not an arrogant club. Which it doesn't.

FC Barcelona have signed a syndicated loan agreement with La Caixa and Banco Santander for a total of €155 million on Wednesday.
Caja Madrid BBVA, Banesto, Banco Popular, Banco Sabadell, Caixa Catalunya, CAM and Cajamar were also involved in the deal. The deal is part of the Strategic Plan of Sandro Rosell’s new board at Barça.

Show of support

The syndicated loan is a show of support by the various financial institutions for FC Barcelona and helps after the amount reqiured was greater than initially thought.

So much wrong to correct, not sure where to start. If only Barca's "genoristy" extended to agreeing an equal TV pay deal for all La Liga clubs. The 3rd best team had to sell their star player to the best team just to survive. That's not right.

Welbeck won't be ready for the United first team for a couple of years yet, Fergie should send him out on loan ala Frazier Campbell to see if he can cut it at the top. Good prospect, but too lightweight at the moment.
