These are about 1000 years old, but in case anyone hasn't played them;

http://www.fasco-csc.com/index_e.php

Crimson Room, Viridian Room, White Chamber, Blue Chamber. 4 'escape the room' point and clicks that I find pretty enjoyable. Crimson Room's still the best, Viridian is ace too... Blue Chamber might be new-ish actually, I've not done that one yet.

Also, this looks like it could be interesting. It's not free, and it's not out yet, but could be one to watch;

The Path, a short horror game. Looks pretty atmospheric.

I'm thinking of shaking things up in the first post by splitting the games up into categories. When I have the time, that is. So far I'm thinking along the lines of:

Platformers
Action platformers
Shooters
Shmups
Puzzle
Adventure

And finally Misc. for any that defy categorization.

But that's for later, got stuff to do.

Sorry for the double post, but I'd just like to point out the changes I've made to the first post. Categories!

It's amazing at getting tension through you though. I got the demo but not the full game for fear of having a heart attack.

And I hate games that put a lot of pressure on me :oops:

It's a much clearer read now. Off the top of my head, I'd probably put Photopia under Adventure, and stick Nethack under RPG myself, though.

Actually, there are quite a few other decent text adventures too, like the wonderful "Anchorhead" and "Delusions".

What's the point of that Execution game?

If I don't shoot the man, nothing happens. If I do, I lose. Is that it? :|

We played this at school for about 20 minutes, I'm sure it never ends.

It sort of ends - eventually it resets back to the start, after you destroy the head.

I've now tried the Crayon Physics Deluxe demo, and just thought I'd bump this thread to make sure all of you try it as well. Don't be put off by the game's nature; there is rarely an obvious "correct" solution to levels. Instead the game challenges you to be creative and think up your own solutions, and thinking up creative solutions and executing them is what makes this game so much fun.

Game and demo

Torus Trooper - Weird Japanese racer/shooter hybrid from the creator of Tumiki Fighters.

The site's all in Japanese so to make things easier the download link is about halfway down the page (tt0_22.zip)

Some good stuff here too:

Namely Gunroar and rRootage
