The Nintendo 3DS date and price prediction thread

April 8th - £279.99 (will include 3D film and a game).

To me that says it'll be out worldwide before end of March as they want to sell 2.5million outside of Japan by the end of the month.

I'm sticking with 8th March for the EU with the US maybe being a week prior.

I think it'll be out in the US by the end of March, but it'll slip a week or two for EU (or maybe just the UK).

Seeing as we're getting Pokemon before the US, I wonder what the chances are of us getting this earlier, too?

NOE and NOA both report to Nintendo Japan, not each other, so there is no real reason (other than precedence) as to why Europe can't get it first. It really depends on where the launch fits into NOE and NOJ plans. I can't be the only person to notice that NOE appear to be getting quicker and quicker, even if the odd game (like Kirby) slips, we generally get another game in place of it (Last Window), and the rumour that NOE is giving us Xenoblade exclusively is definitely very tasty.

I think £250 is really, really pushing it, although I can't say I expected Nintendo to take a hit on the device either so I suppose it wouldn't be much of a surprise.

If you're thinking 250 quid for the unit on it's own then (I believe) that's too much for the average handheld user. They'd be pricing themselves out of the market, almost.

I can see £219 maybe. But not £250 on its own.

I notice they've got the game prices at £30 (claiming a £40 RRP) too. I might go a few pre-orders, just in case the final price is higher (although would they take the risk on losing £10 if they really knew the price?).

EDIT - They've the 3DS on there twice! A £3 pre-order for March 18th and a £300 regular order for March 25th! (Better not be!)

Interesting (well, not *that* interesting) to note some of the games Zavvi consider launch titles : Resident Evil: Mercenaries + various Ubisoft games + Street Fighter
