I want to know what Nintendo's plan for transferring DSiWare games is going to be before I even think about trading my DSi in.

Sony have months to get the pricing right, if they are smart(Sony, smart  ) they can watch the market and judge what is acceptable. Nintendo are going in as the market leader with no dedicated competition. I fear the worst for the price.

Nice. I'll be trading it in then. Shame to say goodbye to some of my DSiWare, but I've only a few games on it so it's not worth keeping it if I could get £70 for it instead.

I do expect the transfer is going to be "Send us your DSi and 3DS!", but I'm hopeful it's going to be "Send us your DSi now and we'll set up your 3DS account early and transfer the games all ready for launch day". A firmware update which connects to a remote server and uploads information about all the games you own would be an ideal way to handle it, but I reckon that is just fantasy. :(

I've made peace with losing my DSi games, as even if I keep the DSi the chances of me going back to it after I get my 3DS seems very slim, so a good transfer system would be a nice surprise.

It should really just be "tell us your Club Nintendo account email and we'll sort it".

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that! That would be ideal, as we already know NOE know everything we purchase.

Hopefully there will be a utility on the 3DS for entering those details and transfering purchases.

Anyway, I was thinking of trading in my DS Lite but now I am having second thoughts because I will probably only get about forty squid for it.

I'll be trading mine in then. Fortunately I don't have any DSiWare to worry about.

Trust me, my daughter traded her DSi in toward an XL and it was £70 at the weekend.

Hi.

Namco want Tales fans to tell them on Facebook and Twitter what they want.

Abyss 3DS is currently "winning".

Mmm. Is this hope I'm feeling?

Nintendo have a tradition of being very competitive on price. So this doesn't bode well for the price of the PSP2.

I'm going for £200 or £225 with a pack-in game. I think they've done very well selling the Wii as a single box product; consumers like feeling as though they've got everything they need in the one box. I'm going to go with an "out there" suggestion of March 13th.

¥25000 converts to £190, plus tax gives you ~£200. This doesn't take into account the "screw Britain" tax that companies like to add on, but I think Nintendo could forgo that in order to keep the price competitive and appealing. £200 without a game is considerably more expensive than a Wii, and I'm not sure the perceived value of a handheld is as high as a home console. It's also quite a lot to spend on a present for a child for a lot of families.

If it's more than £200 then I'm only getting one of them.

Maths not your strong point?

£190 + VAT = £228

EDIT - Basically if we paid exactly the same as Japan, the console would be £230. Except there are obvious extra costs in getting it to market outside of Japan. This is not a 'screw Britain' tax, its a legitimate extra cost involved.

It makes sense if it ends up being around £250. Of course I'm suggesting they'll pack in extra stuff for the west which would make a higher price likely.

Does the Japanese price include their own sales tax though?

Edit, looked it up, couldn't believe the answer.

There is a 5 percent sales tax (shohizei) levied on most products, although there are forces lobbying for it to be reduced back to the previous rrate of 3 percent.

5 strawberry floating percent. :x

I can't believe it's going to be £350. Really taking the piss tbh.

I'm out.
