This is the same for me and my neighbours. A couple of us have a box outside their door so if someone gets someone else's delivery, we pop then in there for them. I'd say I'm lucky all my neighbours in this block are trustworthy. Nothing of mine has ever gone missing, and they all know that they can leave their parcels with me at any point if they're out, which has happened a few times when a delivery won't be delivered unless its handed to someone.

The person who left a note with them may have forgot to say where they dropped it or left a completely cryptic note that you can't even read to be fair.

Sometimes couriers don't even do that and rely on checking the tracking. I guess some people can't or won't or don't even know that there is tracking.

The banana splits never come and get their parcels, often leaving then at our house for days until we go over and say there's something for them, and they pretend they didn't know, even though I've watched the delivery driver put the note through their door.

I've been ignoring the door for a while now when I know it's not for us, but just now I was expecting something so answered.

"Hello there mate, what it is see is I've got a parcel for your neighbour across the road".

Now I can't say no, because it's the regular driver and I don't want anything I have delivered to mysteriously go missing or get left in the rain or something.

Now I've got someone else's post annoying me.

It happened a few times when we had just moved in. Twice it was someone ordering crates of wine. FFS aren't you going to not want to carry that? Also kind of embarrassing (to be fair they were buying bulk to save money). The 2nd time they took ages to collect.

I recently received a taste card for the person who sold this place to the landlord. It's on my fridge, and I'm very tempted to use it, because strawberry float them, how did they forget that they SOLD the address over two years ago that they registered with? As if they have too much money to even check their subscriptions.

Use it, as you say they can't even keep track of their stuff.

Package is still here. She came home not long after it got delivered, and instead of just coming and getting it, she just ignored it. A friend of theirs parked and blocked a neighbours drive, and that neighbour had to knock on her door to get her to move. She then move that car in front of our house, instead of parking ON THE EMPTY DRIVE in front of her own place. Then she went to the neighbours house and picked a large parcel up off her, so she KNEW there was a parcel there and only got it becuase she got dragged out of the house. STILL then didn't just come over and get the one from us. strawberry floating lazy twats.

I had something for a neighbour for like 6 weeks in my old place but the most random/petty/annoyingly small and seemingly pointless thing we ever had for the neighbour was a ball of string.

Like, they were so desperate to get some strawberry floating string, or yarn, or whatever it was, or it was such a thing at the back of their mind that they never remembered having ordered it. I think it was the first time we had to interact with them, but they're actually perfectly nice. DPD who are usually bang on and I rarely miss delivered to them with some of my business shirts and they opened the door in red and white tracksuits with some peppy music on, nice people, Polish I think (if that's relevant, I think they generally are nice so is that positive discrimination...)

Neighbour on the other "side" is technically on another street (and we're on both because it's a corner property). Gave him a bottle of wine once which he refused kindly because he's T-total but I didn't understand what he was implying and I made him take it anyway , he then returned the favour ringing the door bell and putting a tin of olives on the doorstep. I swear recently I found some random door insulation package on my patio which I think was a mystery gift when it was super cold and my windows are buggered at the minute. Or they ordered some, thought it didn't work for them, and gave it to us. It's like a cat leaving unneeded gifts for you.
Talked to them a bunch of times. Yes they knock the walls if I'm playing guitar or production electronic stuff and that can strawberry float with my anxiety but they stopped when I went into another room for that or used headphones (obviously). He's a publishing publicist or editor or something. He actually compliments me on my playing but the noisier/electronic stuff probably bothers him more. Never took anything in for him.

I'm very fortunate with my neighbours and the area in general, yet another reason why I have to plough 200% of my energy into keeping it in my current situation. My disability means I'm not so good dealing with awkward social stuff, or I under or overplay it / under/overdo it with those interactions.

Your neighbour's drive situation sounds strawberry floating insane though. That would piss me off no end, but I don't have a drive nor can I, well, drive, so it's a non-issue for me. When your drive is technically your property or privilege though, that can strawberry float right off.

Reminds me of something silly here. A couple of streets away there's four or five of those semi detached properties that all share one massive drive (with a "slot" for each - they even have cat's eyes to separate them) and have a garage underneath them. On one of the drives, which is empty, there's what I can only describe as a giant paper mache dog (or possibly pig). The other day I was walking home and noticed it wasn't there, then some meek/tired looking older guy came out from some storage shed and put the dog back, so I called out saying, "I wondered where he had gone!". No response. I think they "park" the giant dog there to make sure no-one else parks on their drive, or as some kind of humorous reference that it's their drive. It's pretty funny.

We've got a package room, so it's nice to not have to worry about being in or not.

The issue now is when neighbours on our floor think they're being helpful by bringing your package up for you when they see it in there and I don't know they've done this coz I'm out or whatever. Then I get back and head into the package room as I got the notification on my phone that it's been delivered and scour through packages for 100ish odd flats for ages before giving up and then seeing it outside my door.

Bluetooth. The shittiest way if connecting to anything ever. Two devices, right next to what I want to connect and it won't find it let alone pair. And then when it finally does pair the music keeps cutting out. This is why I'll never go with wireless headphones.

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

I've had mixed results with my Sennheiser ones, on my previous PC they'd often cut out and generally piss me about, on my current build they've been totally fine. I guess it depends on the bluetooth module on the motherboard , I actually bought one specifcally for earbuds at one point and it was unbearably awful (sounded like two paper cups connected with string :dread:).

They do however lose their connection when I move around roughly a metre away from the PC.

our.extension basically served that purpose during lockdown, every parcel got put in there to "de-Covid" for a week before opening.

I find Bluetooth on my PC really dodgy as well. My PS5 controller generally works quite well with the PC but then it'll suddenly miss button presses or the stick input will get stuck momentarily. It's really gooseberry fool and so temperamental. I've started just plugging it in instead.

I lost a filling eating some crackling last night. :x

I always thought it was just a piss take when people would say "careful of your fillings" if you were crunching away on a particularly loud bit of crackling, I didn't expect to actually lose one. :fp:

Now all I can feel is the hole left in one of my teeth. :dread: The edges are super sharp too. Thank strawberry float I have an NHS dentist, hopefully I can get seen soon.

waiting for Ad to post the Partridge "have you ever shaved your crackling?" gif

I suspect the same people who bang on about that Coachella music festival thing even though it's basically meaningless to pretty much everyone in this country.

The bluetooth stack was essentially never developed or implemented properly on Windows and is all but unsupported. It's gooseberry fool.

I know I shouldn't get annoyed at this but I looked after my sister last week one evening and they wanted me to do it tomorrow as well.

Not only do I hate the fact that my weekends which is the only time I really get to relax are being used up, but I hate the fact there's been 2 things I've needed help from my Dad with for over a year and I'm still waiting. Either way I enjoy spending time with my sister so I thought fine, then they added the caveat that they're going to be back at around midnight. Meaning I won't likely get home until about 12:30-1AM when I need to wake up early in the morning. Now I get another call saying rather than them picking me up and going out in the evening they need to go out in the early afternoon now so I'm going to have to essentially use my entire Sunday helping them out because they seem physically incapable of just staying at home for a day. She's 14 already. I get why they don't want her home alone at night but seriously. How about you book things to go and do with your daughter instead of strawberry floating off alone just the two of you all the time.

Also I'm going back to Japan in 2 weeks and want to make sure my house is tidy before I go. This is eating into the time I had to do that which annoys me as well.
