Splinter Cell is trending on Twitter. When will Ubi take the hint?

It didn't look anything like the sequel fans of the first wanted anyway.

Will this be the first game to get cancelled twice? Or was it never officially in development after that trailer from about a decade ago

This was alright for me!

I have faith in Mario + Rabbids to be great, I loved the first game and am very glad a sequel is coming (although it seemed the obvious move you never know with Nintendo).

I'm still keen for Rider's Republic. They're leading a bit more with the zaniness, but there was a more relaxed section of that trailer showing exploration of the environment is still there if you want it. I didn't mind both sides to Steep, and this still very much looks like an evolution of Steep, so I'm very happy with that!

I'll probably end up getting Far Cry 6 despite by complaints about 5, because their core is definitely still good fun.

My girlfriend is genuinely excited about the Avatar game, proving that there is someone out for everything

A Tom Clancy game not being very Tom Clancy is not really a bad thing!

I really like R6S and still play it. Whenever they do the special event modes it always feels like playing around with new game ideas - I would genuinely love a full game built around the drone/camera teleporting from the MUTE protocol mode for example. Being primed by those weird game modes then (the last one was post-apocalyptic Mad Max style) Extraction feels a little less odd, although it's still definitely not much like Rainbow Six. I'm not really precious enough about my R6 lore to care though (and I doubt it's stopping them from making a proper classic style Rainbow Six - I think that's dead for other reasons anyway unfortunately)!

Extraction looks decent anyway. Just another co-op shooter really, but the operator's being captured mechanic sounds neat.

Imagine Splinter Cell in the vein of the thirst three games but with today's hardware. And Ubisoft are like 'nah, can't be arsed. Here's another boring open-worlder instead...' Ubisoft probably look at SC and haven't figured out how to sell people 12 versions of the same game yet.

I bet many people would love to have the multiplayer that debuted in Pandora Tomorrow back too.

With Splinter Cell I’m surprised they’ve not just decided to start remastering/remaking the older games if they’re not keen on making a new one. Only ever played the first 3 games but they were great (Splinter Cell and Chaos Theory in particular), no idea how the latest 3 games (and the PSP one) were though.

The later games diverge so much from what classic Splinter Cell was, they are why I don't care for getting a new Splinter Cell if it will just be in the modern style.

It is sad though thinking Splinter Cell, MGS and Syphon Filter are all dead. Hitman is the closest thing I have to that kind of stealth hit at the moment.

Syphon Filter was another of a surprisingly long list of PS1 franchises that struggled to make the transition over to PS2.

A channel I subscribe to on YouTube broke this conference down and said it was mostly additional content for existing games, or in one case, announcing Season Pass content for a game that is as yet unreleased.

Sounded like a 'games as a service' horror show.

While true, the PSP games were actually great
