Have tried on another HDMI lead that is currently working to get my work laptop onto the same monitor, and that's got the same issue, so don't think it's the lead. Will try with another HDMI on the TV downstairs later on.

Didn't know about this, but it sounds like a good feature. Didn't solve this issue though.
Thanks all, gonna have to continue investigating once I can get to another screen. Obviously this happens just as I commit to downsizing my desk space and want to commit to using my deck as my main desktop replacement.
