What famous people have you met?

When he was filming 51st State, he was in a pub in formby outside liverpool. One cool mummy strawberry floater and a really nice bloke.

I once went on a ride with Dale Winton at the Epcot centre.

It was a boring ride about advancements in hydroponics.

Needless to say, Dale was beaming.

I very briefly met Terry Pratchett at my sisters uni years ago but I didn't really know what he had done at the time. I'm a huge Discworld fan now though. Thats about it for me.

My ex-housemate got called a wanker by Will Self. I'm insanely jealous.

Shedloads of footballers: Gascoigne (and his good mate 'Five Bellies' Gardner and on seperate occasions his daughter Bianca) more times than I remember, Beckham, Lampard (really top guy), Barry, Gerrard (miserable git), J. Cole & Ferdinand (tossers), Giggs, JP Angel, B. Charlton, Ginola, Beardsley, Shearer (who's only about 5ft 10in with studs surprisingly), Keegan and Rush. Met O'Neill, Houllier and Ferguson as managers; Fergie is a legend, sound bloke and has such an aura; and I'm a loyal Kopite. Aside from Lampard he's the nicest guy in football I've met. Met Deadly Doug Ellis too, he's a good joker and storyteller surprisingly!

Sounds like a lot, but I've sat in more corporate boxes than I care to remember from a young age because of my grandfather's line of business. Often a player will pop around the tables after a game, or stay for longer if they've not played. No, I don't like prawn sandwiches

Singers including Duncan James (definitely had a gay vibe) & Simon Webbe, Sting, Sonique (wow, I know...) and Cheryl Tweedy (as she was back then). Not many.

Others include Jeremy Clarkson and The Stig okay, there's more than one person who 'plays' him apparently - I met Ben Collins. He wouldn't even tell me his name!, Rowan Atkinson, Lewis Moody (with my mum who was swooning over him - how embarrassing) along with a few other WC 2003-winning egg chasers. Also Barry McGuigan (who had a long convo with my brother disagreeing about a boxer) and Evander Holyfield. Met Gok Wan in a Topman store buying jeans in Leicester. The guy reeks of cigarettes and has more makeup than a cheap tart. Edit - also met the wrestler the Big Show. I'm about 6ft 5in, and he makes me look like a kid. His hands pretty much enveloped a water bottle he was holding.

The most famous guy I've 'met' is Bill Clinton at a book-signing. I'm not a huge fanboy of him, but I've never felt such in awe of anyone.

The most recent 'celeb' I met was Melissa something-or-other who plays Ian Beale's daughter Lucy in Eastenders. She was with her family staying in a bungalow behind my uncle's house in in Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex a couple of weeks ago. Very pretty girl.

Wow, colour me surprised. I expected the very first reply to be Eighthours' story of him going to a concert with that comedian no-one's heard of.

I've actually met (as in spoken to) James Dean Bradfield from Manic Street Preachers, as well as a few bands (The Zutons and Franz Ferdinand being the most famous). I once saw Professor Robert Winston and the Cheeky Girls in one morning though.

Not that many unforunately. Have talked to a few but never met properly in a social situation

A few england cricket players... Marcus Trescothick (Just before he got his 90 at edgbaston in the 2005 ashes), Talked to hoggard, darren gough, Michael Vaughan, Nasser Hussain

Met all of the Essex cricket team once and played a mess around game with them. Nearly took Ronnie Irani's head off after taking a catch and lobbing the ball up in the air in delight but kinda let go at wrong time - he was umpiring and had to take evasive action (I was about 11!)

Met Irwin Sparkes, singer from the hoosiers, at isle of wight festival, seems like a really nice guy and had picture taken with him...

And Alan titchmarsh. Think that might be about it unfortunately

Yes, I went to the same school as David Suchet's son, so there were a few occasions. He was always sporting a thick beard though for some reason. I was disappointed that he didn't have the Gallic tache.

Re: Balls, yes, it was at an FWA event. He took on Ulf Herman. Balls was the biggest hit of the night. He greeted lots of fans afterwards.
