A whole footballing league is able to function in South Africa with it and they get along fine. The world's elite will just need to make do with sore throats for a couple of days.

Yeah, and everyone knows that the South African league is watched and appreciated the world over.

If the global audience is irritated by the noise then the South African fans ought to act as gracious, welcoming hosts and stop it themselves.

At least he censors his swearing on the car. I bet he's really polite, well mannered and treats women with respect he just has gooseberry fool taste.

The global audience can vote with their remotes and not watch. The horns aren't going to get banned because it's part of the culture over there. It's an African world cup and that's how the African fans follow their football. Of course I'm sure you'd prefer the traditional World Cup where there's strawberry float all unique about it.

I'd rather listen to a combination of John Motson and Alan Green's commentary than those horns.

The World Cup is not an event exclusive to South Africa. It is, as the name suggests, a global event that ought to cater to the global audience. It isn't an event for South Africa to control, they are merely the hosts.

And frankly I could care less about the uniqueness of the noise, it's annoying and disruptive to the football. It's the football that matters not the 'unique' sounds on offer.

I'd prefer a traditional world cup where I don't get a headache watching the games. I couldn't watch a single full game at the confederations cup because of the noise.

Is there any streams for the draw online? I'm stuck in a lab for the evening.

Noise is meant to be disruptive to football. It's why a crowd backs the team through chanting, why teams don't do as well when travelling to Celtic park or the Nou Camp. Football players sure as hell can't hear a thing when the Celtic and Barca fans are in full flow yet they seem to manage alright. You don't see them telling the crowd to pipe down so they can concentrate. They have to play the best they can.

Like I said, don't watch it if it bothers you. Hundreds of millions of others will be.

The BBC should have it streaming through iPlayer.

Is Charlize Theron some how involved in the draw? Her face is on the front of the BBC website.

Don't care who we get really - you have to beat the best to be the best, and all that. Obviously an easier group would be preferential to a tough one though.

We could feasibly beat any team, although I wouldn't say we're anywhere near one of the favourites. Spain and Brazil are clearly the main contenders.

Teams I'll Cheer on during the world Cup:

England - Natch. Hopefully Crouchy and Bent will be in the squad  ( :shifty: ).
Spain - Blates. For players like Alonso, Fabregas and of course Torres.
New Zealand - Underdogs and because New Zealand is awesome. Yis.
Japan - Hopefully Nakamura will be in the team.
Netherlands - Always have in competitions. Plus Kuyty :shifty:
Ghana - Underdogs that I enjoyed watching last time.
Ivory Coast - Despite hating Drogba I enjoyed them last time in the same way I liked Ghana.
Argentina - For Mascher and Messi
Brazil - Only if Lucas is in the squad. For the lols.

And anyone playing France.

Lotsa teams.

I'd quite like England to get someone like France or Portugal, then proceed to knock them out, or at least beat them and make a statement early on.
