Licenses are tied to both console and account that downloaded the game, which is a good thing, as if you use one console and have 4 profiles, 1 for each person who uses it, you can all use the item/DLC/Game you've downloaded, if it was tied to account only, then, well, only one of the 4 people can use the item/DLC/game, and the other 3 people would have to download the item/DLC/game, which I think would be wrong (I also think MS did do it like that at one point.)

Just strange that it is all FIFA related, must be a forum or group somewhere who is sharing this information?

I had problems with this as well...hence me having to start a new Live account and I even got a mod to supsend my old account on here and started a new one. I was told that the exploit actually exists within the sign up process for the EA account....hence it recently being integral to FIFA.

Repeating for page 2; I don't think it's anything to do with EA accounts or FIFA itself - the Fifa packs can be traded online, which makes them the only way to make real money from XBL points.

i am selling as many fifa coins as you need i usually sell them in 100k bundles
100k = £15
300k+ gets discount

just tell me as many as you need and i will get them within one or 2 hours unless i am at college

i take paypal and when i recieve payment i will send coins asap shouldnt take that long
i also collect money cash in hand in the glasgow area
i will need you x box live id so i can speak to you and basically all you havto do is put a player up on ultimate team for whoever many coins you are buying and i will buy him for that price then thats it you have your coins

This sort of thing anything to do with it?

I dunno how the fifa stuff works, but I'd guess yes. It can't be a coincidence that every hacker is a mad FIFA fan.

I reckon it's a shared password thing, like the PSN stunt a week or so ago. Someone has hacked a list of email addresses and passwords from somewhere and are trying their luck.

All the people getting hacked are people who have played Fifa though, right? Doesn't that mean that it has to be something EA related?

Nope, people on GAF have been hacked but haven't played FIFA.

Best change your Live password to something lengthy and complicated. Maybe even change it via your 360 in case there's some evil software stealing passwords on your PC (to change it via your 360 press the guide button, go to Settings > Account Management > Your Information > Windows Live ID > Change Password). Changing your password might not guarantee the security of your account, but it's damn well worth doing anyway!

You know you're allowed I think three new gamertags per Xbox, you could make another temp gamertag and you get a months free gold to play online with until your account is back.

Same fifa bullshit happened to me too. Id rather give sony my cc details than microsoft to be honest.

It was Microsoft who told me that the problem regarding hacking was related to EA accounts...I'd imagine that if they could blame it on another service rather than Live itself they would do so who knows. Googling around when all this was going on for me the recent setting up of an EA account through FIFA12 was certaintly a common factor...yep, I know this doesn't show causation so to speak so I'm unsure what to think.

If this ends up being related to EA and Fifa I can see MS stopping them having their own portal in to live and it becoming even more closed off than it already is.

No. I changed it to something unique a few months back when EA sent out warning emails or something. I forget their reasons now.

Could be social engineering. Hacker gets into an EA account, sees all the personal info, uses that to come up with some possible passwords and then tries them with the e-mail address contained in the EA account.

Still no Live...
I'm not really sure why an 'investigation' into this could take so long, but the end result is I can't get onto Battlefield 3 and it's now beginning to get me down. I don't know why I keep doing it to myself, but I keep nipping into the BF3 thread and reading what a great time people are having and getting even more strawberry floated off.
Dashboard preview thread is having similar rage effects. I was chuffed to get into it; at this rate everyone will have the new Dash before I even get back online.
