Sales figures that would be celebrated today were enough to get it axed back in the day. Best multiformat magazine there's ever been, & probably ever will be IMO. At least they dared have an opinion - they weren't massively enamoured with the Dreamcast, for example. When magazines pose the question 'Should you buy [insert console here]', you can guarantee that the editorial will say "yes". Boring!

Loved Arcade. Up there with N64 Magazine and DC:UK as my favourite games magazines ever

This. Their Games Night feature was the inspiration behind our own and we had so many good times. I still have my Game Over book on the shelf (top read) and the Wip3out OST in the CD rack on my desk. I remember being so psyched for Wip3out and used to play the soundtrack constantly for ages.
