I'm going to fight the power here. The Shield is the best show on television right now (Lost isn't on) and it deserves its own thread. This is it.

I only noticed the other week I own a leather jacket exactly like Shane's.

I'm alternating between this, West Wing and The Wire at the moment. Good times. I've just finished Season 4 of Weeds and that was pretty good too although most of the characters are arseholes.

I really need to watch this. I fancy it more than starting The Wire, because according to seemingly everyone in the world as soon as I watch that I'll think less of every other TV show, and I don't want to do that. Do I need to start right from the beginning, or is there anything I can afford to skip?

Shield is fantastic, my favourite american show, Vick Mackey is the man.
I have only watched up to series 5 though, have the first 5 series on DVD too
