If you do go Alpha, why don't you ask the kids at Tienanmen square "was fashion the reason why they were there?".

Sounds amazing, Alpha. Wish I could go, maybe during a gap year I'll take a good look at the world. As far as I'm considered (and know of you) you're a very lucky person.

Yeah I don't see why it would be a problem, just make sure to update it regularly. :)

Toy R us, Tsim Sha Tsui.

http://www.harbourcity.com.hk/
You cant miss it, its right next to the star ferry port.

Also while youre there go to grainville road near the park, has a tonne of clothes shops.

(From from Red D to Blue H.. also note the shopping centre is just above Red E.)

Wan chai 188 is immense for games and gashapona and stuff, google it.

Golden centre cheung sha wan is pretty much the same but worth a visit as well.

Whilest youre in Mong Kok area there is a street that just has shop that sells trainers its amazing how many differnt types of cons you will see.

Good effort pal, HK is a great place, I'm sure you'll have fun. I'm not sure if there's really enough to do to take up all the time you're planning on spending there though, it'd definitely be worth trying to get to some other places. Have you thought about Macao? Only a ferry ride away, got the world's highest bungee, loads of casinos (all the Chinese hop the border to get their gambling fix) and some really nice Portugese architechture/history. You should definitely make a trip into China aswell. When you're that close it'd be stupid not to.

I should hopefully be heading to Tibet in a few weeks (Government permitting). Looking forward to it, despite the 2 day rail journey.

01 - Leaving for HK
09-06-09

I finally crawled out of bed near 9am, nearly an hour and a half later than when I set my alarm for. I had a lot to do this morning, mostly packing and installing software for work on my formatted laptop. I was half asleep checking facebook when I saw this, "Tube strike! All plans must change" on someone's status. After some panic, it seems the strike starts at 7pm, perfect, because i'll be gone. If you ask me, they should have a team of backup workers who don't mind the conditions the others are protesting against.

My flight leaves at 18:35 so i've arranged to meet Antonia at 15:00 at the airport. She lives quite close so can take a cab and be there in 5 minutes, I live far and have to take a combination of London Transport and be there in around 2 hours.

I was very excited this morning so didn't make breakfast, had a large milkshake instead and slowly got round to packing. Getting everything sorted and packed took far too long, had to install a load of programs and copy work over to the laptop which didn't take to long but then the 95 vista updates took forever.

Everything is packed, i'm pretty much ready to go. Decided to wear smartish casual clothes because I won't be meeting the father till evening for dinner, whcih I am dreading very much. Antonia has assured me what i'm wearing (nice t-shirt, good jeans and smart/casual shoes) will be good enough, her mum isn't too bothered, it's the father that I have to impress.

Anyway, I'm off to the airport now, i'll try to continue with daily updates so check back tomorrow.
