I'd have thought his indecisiveness about buying consoles, and furious obsession with cables would have done the marriage in more than a bit of booze.

the consoles and cables is what drove him to the booze in the first place.

I always though Gandy was alright. His recent vulnerability over this heartbreak has made him more endearing i think, too.
