How did they justify giving a cut down and overpriced, bad port of Plants Vs Zombies 86%?

They said the score for Conduit 2 was being generous as the single player is pretty bad. Multiplayer is the only reason it has scored so high.

Plants Vs Zombies scores that much because despite the odd frame rate issues and high price (not cut down, it has extra modes) it is a great game in its own right.

Interesting how ONM gave Conduit 2 84 and PvZ 58.

They said it was a bad port, with poor resolution, bad animation and bad slowdown. Not the best handheld version and you should get it on another platform.

I certainly wouldn't take much of what ONM say into account. When I used to subscribe it was consistently terrible.

Ah, bum. I did wonder when I saw it in the shop today. Wondered whether MotionPlus might make it the best version.

Rune Factory Oceans 73%

Bah. Had high hopes for that. Unless it's marked down for being impenetrable in Japanese...

Nintendo magazines always depress me, there is nothing ever in them to giving much thought over

Apart from the fact that this is the funniest and best-written games mag on the market, you mean? Loads of exciting games in the preview section at least. Just because it's a slow review month doesn't mean the mag's not worth reading.

It does play a part, as they say there is more of an emphasis on the plot this time, which makes it more impenetrable than the usual games.

Also, they date Tales of the Abyss 3DS for Spring 2012!

I caught that, as well. I sent them a message, this morning, asking if they had any inside information concerning a European release.

No word back, yet, though I fear I'm being a bit optimistic. Normally, I would have dismissed the date outright...but I'm making an exception for this, my callow hopes compelling me to believe that there's some insider knowledge at work.

Yeah, considering the magazine would have went to print before the US announcement it does make me think they've just taken a guess at the date, but I want to believe!

No it's definitely getting a Euro release. Spring 2012 is the date I was given - think they plan to announce a firm date at their upcoming conference (in two weeks).

It's only 73%... That's a pretty high score considering there's 72% lower than it and only 27% higher. Unless your finally admitting gaming review scores are tosh?

As my dear mother would no doubt say: you're fabulous!

I thank you ad inifinitum; and I apologise for any misgivings I expressed earlier!
