Boss battle? I think I know what you're talking about, but it's no battle. If it's any kind of battle then you're not at the end.

Yeah, beat the boss. Thought that was the end of the game. The game's longer than I expected, to be fair.

Starting to drag on a bit now..

I am also confused by this 'boss battle'.

Mirror's Edge confused me so much...such a great concept-but so flawed and downright irritating in places.

Yeah, it seems to flicker between brilliance and downright drudgery.

A fleshed-out sequel is needed.

A bit of variation would be nice too. Each level basically consisted of a brilliant parkour section, followed by a terrible chase sequence.

I  and  Mirror's Edge in equal measure but it's my proudest Platinum Trophy to date and is one of my favourite games of this gen.

On the sixth chapter when I get into the dog building and go up the stairs the game keeps freezing. Whole PS3 freezes. Can't access the XMB or anything. :(

Epic fail on the PS3's part. You can't delete the DLC, Patch or Install without deleting all of the above. :fp:

So I deleted it and reinstalled and that fixed the freezing, except now the PS3 just keeps asking me in the middle of gameplay (like 10 times) if I wanted to install the stupid patch.

The end of chapter 6 was fun indeed, jam. And then Chapter 7 is straight back to running through a load of gunmen. :fp:

Yerp. The prison-transfer-sniper bit was terrible. Terrible.

You basically freeze time, shoot the van's engine, and then run past a load of gunmen to the front door. I was getting riddled with bullets as I hit the front door, but as I had hit the point the game require me to, I was okay. Awful. :fp:

That bit is only really frustrating if you are doing it trying to get the not shooting achievement, otherwise its fine.

Is that an achivement for not killing anyone? I was wondering if there was one, but wondered if it was possible?

I didn't actually shoot anyone in that bit, I just jumped down, level by level.. Was strawberry floating awful.

Same thing happened to me. Can't remember how I got past it though. Maybe the game just can't load all the new textures and geometry inside the building fast enough... try taking it really slow once you get inside.

Edit: Oh, you got past it...

Just spent an hour or so on this, having had a couple of weeks break. strawberry float me, it's still annoying.

I'm up to Chapter 7 now I think. What gets me is when Faith just refuses to grab onto a ledge when you're clearly close enough and at the right angle and height. So. strawberry floating. Annoying.

When it works, it works, but there are too many breaks in the form of annoying combat sections and tedious door opening sections (the ones where you twist the circular handle). Not enough running, flowing movement.

I remember playing this, and it was quite easy even on the hardest difficulty. It also had some very odd parts, like when you run up the crane and jump over to another building. Well the thing with that is I didn't do much with the controller to make that happen, and the distance doesn't come across as you're playing. It just seems like a normal part, only with the guy in your earpiece going "OMG did you just do what I think you did!?!?!?!". :|

Just finished the game.

Not bad overall, I had fun with it, even if I did see the ending coming from several kilometers away. Celeste, the evil runner and Mercs fates were pretty obvious once you realised the plot was by the numbers.

Quite a nice ending though, with the music and view and all, even if it didn't explain just where all those men intent on killing me went.

That part really annoyed me too...and then having to redo the previous three minutes was quite annoying also.

"Yeah, it seems to flicker between brilliance and downright drudgery" sums it up nicely. I know it needs a story line, but the chase sections start fun, and very quickly get utterly annoying- you can't enjoy the scenery, the free running etc....the combat feels awkward and based on button pressing perfection....the lack of knowing how many bullets I have left isn't well thought out....being forced down particular paths....I could go on.

But I like it too...I felt as if I wasn't a hollow collection of polygons, it was immersed into the game, general movement worked well, and I liked its variation on the UT3 engine! If they used larger, more free levels, drastically changed the combat, and got rid of the formula of explore/chase/explore/chase...it could be much better.
