Silva's actually one of the most chilled out people you'll ever come across.

I'd like to just point out that Silva is one of the most mellow people I've had the pleasure of speaking to. If you could come on Mumble, you'd be able to see yourself. I spoke to him first about three years ago and I have never seen him angry.

Well, I'm never going to be able to live that one down.

I've never really been kind of person who would watch sports.

70 cars on a Formula 1 track. Monaco would be fun to watch.

He's not entirely pleasant on the forum, though.

I can understand that. He can sometimes go a bit too far on the forum, but so can a lot of us. It mainly stems from other posters posting something that will wind him up. From there, it's straight into an argument. Brer is the same. I personally feel that thread started off great, it's a shame it went downhill the way it did.

Was that only Silva's fault? Not really, but I understand why he's been punished. I just hope there's consistency from here on out by the moderation team.

And you'll find it. I feel that civility is important - debates can rage long and hard, but when out comes the name calling and personal abuse...well, it's hardly needed, is it?
Debates are why we're here, but calling someone a retard, or disabled, or whatever? What's that going to achieve, other than winding up the guy you're calling, and pissing all of the thread readers off?

Wait, 'civility' is a word, isn't it?

EDIT - it sure is! 8-)

Bonus.

I think that a vast majority of online gamers are angry, retards or just bad losers... I never wear the headset when playing people who I don't know.

I genuinely believe there's room for both.

I love my PC for Stalker, Minecraft, Deus Ex, Far Cry, DOW, COH, Any RTS, Battlefield 1942/2, The Modding, free multiplayer and Keyboard and mouse support.

I love my Xbox for Halo, GOW, Forza, Xbox live, 4 player post pub Pro Evo, Fight night, and the fact I know a game will just work when I put it in.

I don't like my PC for the occasions it screws up/performs badly for no apparent reason, or just plain refuses to load a game.

I don't like my Xbox for when it RROD's, Makes a lot of noise, Streams media badly, or when I have to pay my yearly sub.

When I have a gaming day with mates, it's usually PC's on a LAN in the kitchen, and Xbox's connected in the livingroom. They've both got good points, and bad points, and really not sure why some people feel the need to batter other's with their opinion about it so much.

Of course there's room for both, but that doesn't mean they're on an equal footing. It's like saying there's room for both convenience food and proper home cooked meals, but they certainly don't offer equal experiences. Sure, convenience foods are easy, require little or no effort from the consumer, some even taste nice, but they're still pre-made, offer no control over what's actually going in to your food, and ultimately cannot offer as rewarding an experience as proper food. Yes, there are some convenience food exclusives, the post pub kebab for example, so it'd be wrong to say they have no place at all, but they just can't match up to the competition.

I also have a similar analogy about downloadable extras being like a bottle of wine with a meal at home or at a restaurant, as well.

Sounds fair to me, but not sure why one has to be classed as better than the other. For me, they're both better and worse than eachother depending on the situation.

Sometimes I want a Roast dinner, and am prepared to put all the effort in to get it, Other times I just want a sandwich.

But do you make that sandwich yourself, or buy it from a fridge as part of some bundle meal deal?

Left over roast sandwich supremacy, btw
